I am team Song of Achilles as that one absolutely wrecked me but I still liked Circe and I think that book is actually more your style than Song of Achilles. I recommend both though!
yeeeey before the coffee gets cold. love it. know that it's very atmospheric and very much about the story of the people and their past relationships. it's not action packed or anything and almost reads more like a short story collection. just setting the right expectations 😉
I don’t do Tbrs they don’t work for me because I’m a mood reader. I plan to read all the prompts I have two careers picked out so come August I have some wiggle room plus my health (chronic migraines/headaches) and my fibromyalgia has been out of control making reading very difficult. The struggle I have with Lore Olympus, which I LOVE as a series, is that not much happens in volume 1. It’s really just establishing the characters. Also, it’s not a very fast-paced story, but I’m not sure if I feel that way because I’ve been following weekly updates since 2018 😅 For my tbr I’m focusing on Illusionist Rogue and Faewilds Cartographer. Reading a lot of comics because that’s realistic for me and I need an excuse to read all of my Avatar comics 💙
I read a book years ago called The Man in the Empty Suit. It’s about one man who, on the same day every year, meets up with his selves from different timelines. One year, he shows up to find that some of his selves are being murdered and he has to figure out what is happening before a younger self is murdered and he no longer exists. I can’t guarantee that the writing holds up (it was probably 15+ years ago that I read it). But it is a time fuckery adult book that you may enjoy. I keep thinking I need to reread it to see how it has aged.
I’m reading book 2 in the wayfarers for the future prompt 😁👍🏻 it talks about humans leaving earth behind when it became harder for humans to thrive there so I’m counting it as the future.

I’ve just finished listening to a song of Achilles and listened to Circe last year, they are both beautifully written but I am team Circe. I think because Achilles was set mainly during the Trojan war. I also listened to Ariadne last month which is another Greek retelling by I think Jennifer saint, I could be wrong, and that was beautifully done as well. I’m going to listen to Elektra next soon, and then Pandora. The raven boys is on my tbr for April as well, first time read!

I'm going for Beast Master and reading Daughter's of the Moon Goddess for Myths and Iron Widow for my romance because I've been in such a mood for fantasy lately. A book under 100 pages was super hard, but then I found KU has some of the Shadowhunter short stories as separate sort of books.
If you haven’t read 11/22/63 by Stephen king than you definitely should- it’s definitely a “time-fuckery thriller”. It’s NOT horror. Favorite book of all time for me. I also loved Lore Olympus and can’t even explain why- it was just so good.
I am so excited for the readathon! I am team Circe (literally just finished this book). The Song of Achilles was my favourite read of 2021 out of 50 books, but Circe is even better. I gave both of them 5 stars easily, Madeline Miller's writing is just so lyrically magical 😍 I feel the Song of Achilles is more suited for everyone and Circe is for the mythology lovers. Maybe that helps you choose?

Before the Coffee Gets Cold is my new FAVORITE book. I read it in a day and a half! The ✨️emotions✨️ it made me feel 😭 I just couldn't put it down and the author recently released a second book with more stories from the Café
Summer frost is so so so great!!! And I'm hoping you'll enjoy The Way of Kings part 2, it was amazing, in my opinion. ♥️ The Stormlight Archive is SUCH a great series!!

Lore Olympus is incredible! I really hope you like it. I read it (and I’m still reading it once it comes off hiatus) on webtoons so it’s a different experience than the physical copy for sure.
I did get bullied into putting A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet on my Orilium tbr, haven't decided what prompt to use it for 😂 and Lore Olympus will probably end up on there, and maybe one or two of those kindle short stories. I don't know that I could pick a favorite between Circe and Song of Achilles. Maybe SoA because it gave me *the feels*, but Circe has them good witchy vibes. But I loved both of them..... so you probably will find them ok 3 star reads👀

I haven't yet ordered all my books so I'll be starting the readathon without my full tbr but really excited to finally be a part of the readathon as most of the before ones were during my exams so i couldn't join any sprints and just read the books myself..
I won’t be starting with my full tbr either. One book I want to read doesn’t come out until the 5th, so I’ll have to wait to get that one. Plus one of the audiobooks I want to read I don’t have yet, but once my April Audible bill goes through I’ll be able to buy it.

I almost went with that career just because it has my favourite band’s name in the title (i know it’s ridiculous lol) but it was totally unrelated to my character so i decided on the dream walker. Before coffee gets cold were such a disappointment for me. Concept is right up my alley but it would be better on a play rather than a book imo. Sadly "Before the coffee gets cold" is a boring and typical Japanese book that's all about morals and "what you should've done" instead of embracing the magic of traveling back in time. Maybe it's because I've lived in Japan for 1,5 years that I'm a little bit overfed when it comes to such books, but I think there are a lot more interesting Japanese novels out there. ;) But I'm interested if you like it - so please don't feel demotivated! It's not a bad book, it's just that the predicted magic wasn't there for me. :)
I'm extremely disappointed with the Discord portion of this whole endeavour. I'm sure you know what I'm referring to. When you deal with that many people on a service like that, you WILL have tons of people looking for loopholes. I admit I am a bit shocked that nobody saw this coming. Since there is nothing in place to verify that the quest was actually done, you made that loophole massive and impossible to miss. The answer isn't to enable Slow Mode, it's to close the loophole. I don't like being so critical of this but it's a problem that should have been anticipated at the outset. I hope you learn from this.

My TBR game backfired on me and I ended up with 19 books ahahaha, at least fitting the 8 prompts for Necromancer wasn't too hard this way.
