I love how faithful this battle is to Toby's style. There are some points where it seems to be copying the structure of Spamton's battle, and doesn't tend to stray too far into originality, but it still gives a really fun battle that feels just like playing Deltarune Ch2 again!

This, in my opinion, is one of the closest to canon fan games for Deltarune. The style, Mike’s dialog, act options. They seem like Toby could’ve made them. It’s high effort fan game for sure
And it's exactly because of that that people shouldn't do fan content of things to come. Now, whatever Mike is like in the actual canon, it will always suffer the comparison with this fan content.

If you pay attention, Mike punches the soul away in the beginning, and later asks why Kris won’t take damage. In both Undertale and Deltarune, we only ever take damage from the soul, which is why Kris doesn’t even interact with the bullets here.
As an even deeper detail, he specifically says "not taking damage", instead of something more casual like "why are my bullets not affecting you?", as if he could actually see the player's stats or something.
I really like how “Turn up the Juice, put on your shoes” is a mirror of Spamtons EX dialogue if you defeat him violently. If Toby was to have a Main boss also be a secret boss this really cool Omega flowey style evolution where they become warped and distorted would probably be the way to go!
I am guessing your talking about the normal Spamton NEO fight? The snowgrave Spamton NEO fight can actually be called Spamton NEO. The normal fight can be called Spamton EX.
The reason Kris wasn't moving at first was because Mike unknowingly kicked your soul out of his body,it hints towards Kris having the same problem as spamton where he is attached with strings,and without those strings he can't move,just like spamton,I honestly love this part
I guess that kinda makes sense, since everytime they take their soul out, they can barely move, to not say "their footsteps are more dramatic when they're souless".
When Spamton mentioned Mike for the first time I freaked out thinking that It somehow connected to my save file name to the creation you make on chapter 1, accidental yet very incredible encounter. 😅

The same thing happened with gaster, we only have 3 pieces of him, know he is a scientist and is called gaster, outside of that we don't have nothing more, but this didn't stop him to have a lot of really similar interpretations

when you said the triangle was "cute" i laughed way more than id like to admit i loved this fangame, its soul mode and "not tp" system, i think its so creative and well done. its great
This fan game is pretty well made(I also greatly appreciate the use of Papyrus' cool song in the theme, since the blue soul is Papyrus and Sans' gimmick in undertale), the only issue I have with it is that it treats Mike as a secret boss and a main antagonist at the same time. The use of only Kris and setting right before the fountain parallel the Snowgrave NEO fight, the flashy special attack that lacks a box, the improved version of a soul mode, you getting a shadow crystal(which we know are related to the secret bosses), not to mention the use of the secret boss motif that has appeared in both World Revolving and Big Shot, all of that screams secret boss, but the fact that you can spare tells us that it's not meant to be a Snowgrave-style thing, just the regular final boss of the chapter. I eagerly await chapter 3 either showing Mike in a totally different way than the fanon character that has already been constructed for him, or not at all, like how people took Jevil's foreshadowing of Queen and constructed a character that was alternatively the Knight's boss or stronger and edgier genderswapped King.
I agree with alot of the points on here, but i would like to add something! Since spamton the one whos closest with him im going to use him as an example. I dont think mike is nearly as evil as spamton makes him out to be, as spamton seems to despise him. But in this fangame he doesnt seem nearly as much of a threat execpt for the genocide ending and even that seems pretty simple. Sorry if this didn't come out clear, I'm not good at explaining things lol
The fact that this game was made in Scratch just goes to show just how talented some people are. I’ve played this game and it doesn’t even feel like it was made in Scratch, and that makes it unique. This game is easily a 10/10. I love it

Nice fangame, only thing that I felt was out of place was the fact that Mike is meant to be the main boss if we’re following the pattern of “prior secret boss predicts future main boss”. There should be no reason to obtain a Shadow Crystal from Mike.
I love how the Community is trying to give the Different Soul Colors the Same Treatment that the Yellow Soul got. Yellow got the "Big Shot" Here, Blue got a Ground Pound I've Seen someone give Purple a "Slingshot" Mechanic. Since we dont even know what Orange and Cyan officialy do, people have often given them a Dash move, where you can Pass through attacks
This fight is extremely well made! I like how it captures some aspects and details referenced from 70s-90s TV shows and also some early 2000s stuff. I can’t wait to see what fox has in store for chapter 3

My main problom with the interpretations of chapter 3 is that its a lot like chapter 2, but we saw clearly that chapter 1 and 2 were completly different, it would have to be a new setting, based off of the location of the fountain, so maybe some form of carnival, seeing that the door was opened while all other times it was closed, while toby could be trolling us again and chapter 3 will start with susie complaining about the smoke in the room
The thing is, A secret mike battle is very unlikely because so far all of the secret bosses has either been discarded, forgotten, or just lost his sanity, Mike just seems like a celebrity. If Mike some sort of trait that makes him seem unknown to the people of the dark world or have some kind of tragic backstory, It would have secret boss energy, right?

This mod almost seems official dude. The mechanics, the text effects, the writing style, the animation, it all looks like something straight out of chapter two. The only thing i would say that makes it a lot different than toby’s writing style is that they actually included memes. I don’t remember toby ever including real memes in the game, just jokes that could be a meme. (Like the banana or explosions)

This fan boss easily tops Toby Fox's writing and mechanical standards. It's really amazing to see how much the fans extract from a character that doesn't even exist yet! Reminds me of the crazy Gaster fangames. And by the way Merg, I'd like to suggest you to play the Deltarune RIBBIT fangame sometime! It completely changes the story of Deltarune ch1 and overall it's ridiculously high quality and creative, specially with bosses. It's worth giving a try and I think you would really enjoy it!

This fan game is pretty well made(I also greatly appreciate the use of Papyrus' cool song in the theme, since the blue soul is Papyrus and Sans' gimmick in undertale), the only issue I have with it is that it treats Mike as a secret boss and a main antagonist at the same time.
The use of only Kris and setting right before the fountain parallel the Snowgrave NEO fight, the flashy special attack that lacks a box, the improved version of a soul mode, you getting a shadow crystal(which we know are related to the secret bosses), not to mention the use of the secret boss motif that has appeared in both World Revolving and Big Shot, all of that screams secret boss, but the fact that you can spare tells us that it's not meant to be a Snowgrave-style thing, just the regular final boss of the chapter.
I eagerly await chapter 3 either showing Mike in a totally different way than the fanon character that has already been constructed for him, or not at all, like how people took Jevil's foreshadowing of Queen and constructed a character that was alternatively the Knight's boss or stronger and edgier genderswapped King.
I agree with alot of the points on here, but i would like to add something! Since spamton the one whos closest with him im going to use him as an example. I dont think mike is nearly as evil as spamton makes him out to be, as spamton seems to despise him. But in this fangame he doesnt seem nearly as much of a threat execpt for the genocide ending and even that seems pretty simple. Sorry if this didn't come out clear, I'm not good at explaining things lol

Nice fangame, only thing that I felt was out of place was the fact that Mike is meant to be the main boss if we’re following the pattern of “prior secret boss predicts future main boss”. There should be no reason to obtain a Shadow Crystal from Mike.

My main problom with the interpretations of chapter 3 is that its a lot like chapter 2, but we saw clearly that chapter 1 and 2 were completly different, it would have to be a new setting, based off of the location of the fountain, so maybe some form of carnival, seeing that the door was opened while all other times it was closed, while toby could be trolling us again and chapter 3 will start with susie complaining about the smoke in the room
btw kris didn't take damage at the start because his soul wasn't on his body so there was nothing to deal dmg to

This mod almost seems official dude. The mechanics, the text effects, the writing style, the animation, it all looks like something straight out of chapter two. The only thing i would say that makes it a lot different than toby’s writing style is that they actually included memes. I don’t remember toby ever including real memes in the game, just jokes that could be a meme. (Like the banana or explosions)

And by the way Merg, I'd like to suggest you to play the Deltarune RIBBIT fangame sometime! It completely changes the story of Deltarune ch1 and overall it's ridiculously high quality and creative, specially with bosses. It's worth giving a try and I think you would really enjoy it!
