I have been collecting grey plastic for more than 20 years, my wife has been painting here and there, but I was always too scared to touch them. Thanks to your slap chop videos I decided to give it a try and I’m impressed, I have painted 2 kill teams in the last 3 weeks which is more than what I’ve painted in my whole collecting history. One note about space marines, the citadel contrast paints don’t work as well as your paints on flat surfaces, but on other minis they do wonders
Rook. Castle guys? We have computers in our hands. I'm loving your talent! I would have liked to see you do the dry brush gray and white. I've seen it done before but not on a space marine. I'd like to see that what parts you left dark and stuff
My dog knocked over a bottle of that cement with his tail. While I was rushing to clean it up I inhaled all kinds of fumes. I started feeling bad a couple of days later and developed a cough, congestion, and eventually a fever. It turned out to be a bad flu, but the doctor said it ravaged the lining of my throat, basically a chemical burn. Knocked my immune system for a loop until the lining healed up, allowing me to get sick. It's good cement, but please be careful out there!
Love this project man, looks great! I would advise potentially varnishing your pieces to future proof it so that your hard worked slapchop painting don't rub off through play!
They look perfect to me its a great technic you have fully owned as your own I just love you painting. That is so cool your doing a class you are getting there for sure. I need to try that technic myself. :-) Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist
I would love to be able to do it but it doesn't work for armoured pieces. I've tried but slapchop seems to only work on textured surfaces (clothes, flesh, fur, chainmail) but space marines generally have relatively smooth outsides.
Curious if you are going for a Sister or a SM that fits the role of the piece more. I think a Sister might look out of place. Primaris Librarian in Phobos maybe could work.
Or since u already put a decal ...then make banners on the back jumppacks that would be the only thing i would add but thats jus my idea and if i do a chess set i want chaos slaanesh on one side and sisters of battle on the other lol...
I never tried this technique but I don't get it - you paint model with black primer and then heavy dry brush it with light grey. Couldn't you just paint it white primer instead and then just apply a little black wash? Seems like similar effect with even less effort
@@williamoakley8656 i thought about wash instead of drybrushing, but still before contrast paint. I would also try with wash after, but small amount only

Dude, your videos are the reason, I finally found the courage to start painting,.... and I absolutely love it 🙂
Kitbash idea: Orc in a stolen space marine power suit.
Crudely painted and modded to look Orcish 🤘
The rooks came out nicely, speed paint and contrast paint really make the slapchop method work a lot easier than having to thin your own paints.

Maybe on the blank shoulder pad paint in a rook tower would be cool addition on the marines anyhow haha
Can’t wait to see the finished set and how to make the board.
Really enjoy the content.
Thank you for your videos.
I love this ❤️
Good luck with the display and hobby demo when it happens.
Excellent slap chop painting the chess set and board are truly awesome. Cannot wait to see the finished results Jon
I just picked up a set of WH figures, finished putting them together and was wondering how to paint them. Thanks for the video

Getting a lot of mileage out of the slap chop deal. Good for you man!
Killer paint jobs!
Great models man
You are becoming a slapchop master.

What black wash did you use on the aggressors mate?
hi i am just starting got a few bits do you have the package for sale you was talking about cheers and loving your vids
I'd love to see one of your display boxes but themed around the Kruelboyz Orruks! All swampy and thematic
What set are the Orks from, especially the chap at 0:42?
Nice aggressors man, im painting some ultramarine aggressors as well :)

What glue did you use to temporarily glide the minis to you painting handles?
Just normal super glue but just a small amount 🙂
Your vids made me want to buy the speedpaints but Vallejo is coming out with their own line so im waiting 😅

The chess set has become really beautiful.
Have your speedpaints ever reactivated when you have been painting any of your minatures?

I dont think it would be a similar effect 🙃
@@MiniatureHobbyist I just have to try it :)
I've done that method with the wash at the end, and I feel like it makes the model look dirtier.

Hi
uhhhhhhmmmmm, annnnnnnd, uuuuuhhhhh..... 😬
Dude, you dont have to show how you assemble the minis. It's a mismatch with the title! :)
