Love to have you join us at next year’s Empire Gravel which includes many of these awesome Putnam Cty roads. Reg will open upon BikeReg for 3rd annual edition early 2025 for the June 2025 event.
Although a bit harder to get to than Cold Spring, the Cross Mountain Crusher gravel race is October 5 in Arkville. Attend only if you're in serious shape. The 55 mile course is no joke
Dang! One of the things I love abut these roads is that usually, I have them all to myself. Like the hiking trails around here that we have been using for decades, have become popular and we, the Cold Springers, can no longer use them. Now you are going to bring thousands of people here to ruin it. I guess I will have to move. Y’all enjoy. By the way, there is a mine on that road. You can actually go down into it. And Ninham is the highest point in Putnam. From the River in Cold Spring, to Ninham is a gain of over 1000 ft.
3:45 Train east (LIRR) from NYC to Cold Spring Harbor and then ride to Stillwell Park is also great.
I stopped here to ride very randomly in 2019. I’ve gone back since I live it so much. KEEP OLD ALBANY POST ROAD DIRT
Amen!
Looks like a fun adventure! Keep them coming!
