Yeah the only issue with that is when you encounter a normal looking wooloo and you think nothing of it at first because it looks like a normal wooloo. You either kill it or run away and realize your mistake minutes/seconds later.

But I was unlucky and lost it after my ds dying. HOWEVER, In sword and shield, in sword a found a brilliant aura duskull, AND IT WAS SHINY. So now I found my long lost friend. 😭😭😭😍
In Diamond, I caught a shiny geodude then my game crashed. 6 YEARS later I found a shiny graveler on the same cartridge. My friend grew up and came back to me

I actually really like this method. Making you fight more than 50 to increase your odds will give everyone who wants to hunt on full odds the chance to do so. But for everyone else, they will only have to work on increasing their odds once for a single pokemon to forever have increased odds of catching a shiny of that pokemon.
Well yes but actually no. You’re doing everything right but might not be having bad luck with the shiny Pokémon but instead with the shiny hunting method. Because after datamines people found out that the method only works 3% of the time so most of the time it’s because the method just doesn’t wanna work.
FYI: I'm shiny hunting Rookidee and Wooloo on route 1 and I've just realized that the Pokedex seems to stop counting battles at 999. My Rookidee count was 999 when I last checked a few hours ago and it still is when I checked now though I've been continuing to battle them. UPDATE: I'm starting to feel like this is bogus or the odds are glitched. I've been at this for going on two weeks at least. Though I can't know for sure since the Pokedex stopped counting which is annoying, I've maxed out Rookidee at least twice, if it's not three times than I've got to be closing in on it which should have guaranteed me one shiny encounter but it hasn't happened. I'm getting close to just breeding instead. I did receive a Japanese Rookidee in a surprise trade.
Apparently, due to a glitch, the increased odds only affect the pokemon 3% of the time. So each time you encounter a Rookidee, you have a 3% chance of having your 1 in 512 reduced odds... It basically makes the method near worthless. If you have a foreign ditto, just go for the breeding, I reckon. It irks me that unless you have a friend who has their own switch and opposite copy of the games or Nintendo Online, it's basically impossible to get the shiny charm, due to lack of GTS. They had ONE new method for shiny hunting, and it's already basically useless...

Rookidee x2 Scorbunny Sobble Eevee x2 Though I haven't managed to score a foreign Ditto rather foreign versions of the Pokemon I shiny bred. What irked me is having to pay for a Nintendo Online subscription to use the Surprise Trade to make these shinies possible even if it is reasonably inexpensive. Right now I'm trying out the raid shiny manipulator for a shiny G-Max Charizard.

With the introduction of the fastest bike in the series to date, using the Masuda Method to hatch shiny Pokemon has never been faster - especially since Sizzlipede has Flame Body. This method is done by breeding two Pokemon, each from separate languages. Using this method IMMEDIATELY places your shiny chance at just around what it would be if you were to reach 500+ battles, saving many hours of your time and allowing you to breed each shiny Pokemon for the nature, ability, and IVs of your choice. Try using a foreign Ditto with any one of your own Pokemon when you breed for the most versatility.
I noticed he didn’t showcase this, but I think I know how to get a shiny starter. To get a shiny starter: 1. Go to route 9 to get your water upgrade for the Rotom Bike. 2. Go to the northern part of the wild area and go east to the Lake of Outrage. 3. Find and catch a Ditto. 4. Take your starter and the Ditto to the nearby Pokémon nursery. 5. Wait for an egg to come. Repeat steps 4-5 if failed. Now as I said, I’m not sure if this is correct. Though I believe it is. You can go to the hotel on the left of the fountain at Circhester and go up a floor and go through the 1st door on the left to reach Morimoto, and beat him in a battle to gain the Oval Charm, which will make the process faster.
Dont give up man, in pokemon sun I hatched 55 boxes or about 1600 eggs using masuda method before I got my shiny. In my opinion the longer hunts makes them more special.

I find it funny how I encountered a shiny before I got to the first gym. That's a 1/4096 chance. I was able to have a shiny Perrserker the entire game pretty much.
I’ve legit only randomly encountered shinies. I got one shiny vanillite just walking trough the grass in wild area and one shiny lombre searching for applin 🗿
Fainting the Pokemon required for the increased shiny chance is a really good game mechanic. You're gonna be going into encounters hundreds of times anyway so might as well increase your shiny chances while doing so.

Heres a tip: once you get the water bike in route 7 go to hammer locke wild areas and go to lake of out rage you’ll find the eeveelutions catch two on different days and breed them then you have unlimited eevees!!!!
I really dislike this method of farming shinies. I thought Let’s Go had the best system, especially since you could see their shiny form in the overworld.
It's basically the same though. The only difference is you don't have to chain them. Which in my opinion is much better since it was waaay too easy to inadvertently break a chain in Let's Go, especially when you were hunting smaller Pokemon in tight areas with bigger ones like certain areas of Mt. Moon.

Dont give up man, in pokemon sun I hatched 55 boxes or about 1600 eggs using masuda method before I got my shiny. In my opinion the longer hunts makes them more special.

I find it funny how I encountered a shiny before I got to the first gym. That's a 1/4096 chance. I was able to have a shiny Perrserker the entire game pretty much.

I’ve legit only randomly encountered shinies. I got one shiny vanillite just walking trough the grass in wild area and one shiny lombre searching for applin 🗿

Well I do like that grinding can increase shiny odds this seems really underwhelming.
Fainting the Pokemon required for the increased shiny chance is a really good game mechanic.
You're gonna be going into encounters hundreds of times anyway so might as well increase your shiny chances while doing so.

Heres a tip: once you get the water bike in route 7 go to hammer locke wild areas and go to lake of out rage you’ll find the eeveelutions catch two on different days and breed them then you have unlimited eevees!!!!

I really dislike this method of farming shinies. I thought Let’s Go had the best system, especially since you could see their shiny form in the overworld.
It was cool but I still really like this one since chaining doesn’t matter.

That and if one happens to flee / ko you or you encounter another Pokémon, it wont matter.
It's basically the same though. The only difference is you don't have to chain them. Which in my opinion is much better since it was waaay too easy to inadvertently break a chain in Let's Go, especially when you were hunting smaller Pokemon in tight areas with bigger ones like certain areas of Mt. Moon.
Defeat every single wild Pokémon 501 times to increase your overall finding of shinies in the overworld :'D...

From what I can tell, it’s a single gift Charmander given to you after you beat the main story. I got it and when I checked the Pokédex for the natural habitat it came up empty.
