  • This cute macrame bat is such a fun craft project for Halloween and also makes a great gift! Let me show you how to knot this macrame bat wall hanging with my detailed instructions. Also, check out my step-by-step tutorial blog post with more photos, links, and details: cuckoo4design....
If you can loop a cord around another cord then you can easily make this bat too ;)
(UPDATE: 17-inch cord is supposed to be 54-inch cord in video subtitles)

Supplies I used to make this macrame bat:
🎃 stick found outside, you can also buy a dowel rod ( I cut stick to 11 inches after finishing the bat because this way it is easier to secure the piece on a flat surface while working on it)
🎃 wood beads (you can use smaller beads than mine or even red beads) rstyle.me/+LHT...
    🎃 3mm black macrame cord amzn.to/3PCotvz
    🎃 scissors
    🎃 ensuring tape
🎃 black Sharpie and white paint with paint brush for eyes
17 pieces of macrame cord cut to 54 inches long (137.16 cm)
    Finished macrame bat is 11” x 9.5” (27.94 cm x 24.13 cm)

This is really cute!! I am a visual learner and it is extremely difficult to see anything with the black cord. I understand bats are black but for instruction purposes I wish you would have used a different color so your audience could see the knots. Thank you though for the tutorial

The first step says to add three more cords to the right cord hanging from the stick, but the video is only showing two more being added? What am I doing wrong here?

Do what she actually does in the video. It’s 2 cords added on each side for the bat head

Really confused me when you kept saying 17in cords but all the cords were cut to 53in. And not having a length of the dowel really threw me off. Had mine cut down to 12in and yours was like 16-20 in. So I could only fit 3 webbings of wings on mine.

Hi there, sorry you are having difficulties. It always also helps to check out my coordinating blog post for more descriptions and photos. It is 17 individual pieces of cord that are cut to 54 inches long. And the reason I cut my dowl rod after is that I wanted to make sure everything fit on the rod.

For first time macraming you really should do each side. It is hard for some of us to remember what you did on the other side that you finished. In other words, please do the entire tutorial.

Your measurments have to be wrong. I cut what you said and dont have enough string to finish up the body.

Did you use 3mm cord? And were they 54 inches long? If you used larger size cord you have to adjust the measurements of cord length. Larger cord takes more.

At 0:12 you wrote 17 inches folded in half. It’s confusing. Blog post or not.
