everyone is saying "fighting sans because you killed papyrus", but i think it'd have to be more complicated than that for sans to even do that. sans doesn't fight you outside of genocide because of his promise to toriel, and, most likely, the fact he's also aware everything will be reset anyway, so he doesn't have anything he can even accomplish from doing so. it isn't that toby just left out a fight against sans besides the genocide run - with how things are in undertale, no matter how much he despises you, and i think it's pretty clear you can do that without going genocide, sans would never engage in a proper _serious_ battle with you with a real, emotional battle theme until he _absolutely_ has to. (aka, in the genocide run.) so basically, such a battle would maybe take place in a timeline where sans hasn't quite obtained - or at least reached the understanding of that he posses in-game - the knowledge on how resetting and timelines work that caused him to just give up, and where he never made a promise to toriel. maybe when sans (most likely briefly) attacks at the start of the game, stmpwyfs is his theme, but you can end up befriending him, most likely through him seeing you befriend papyrus, which would likely avoid this ever playing entirely. maybe, he'd fight you in the judgement hall outside of genocide if you killed papyrus or had built up a high enough lv, and this would be his battle theme then? i dunno, an obviously less fleshed-out idea along those lines was what i thought up listening to this and seeing it be conceptualized as a neutral sans battle theme. considering how clever and dangerous sans is, my idea of a fight with him to kill you at the start of the game that you can even get your way out of in itself probably has a lot of holes in it, but hey, maybe without all the time-wimey knowledge the guy has in our undertale, he wouldn't have as many tricks up his sleeve and would be easier for, say, papyrus to accidentally interrupt attempting to murder you and take your soul?
also, absolutely fantastic remix, seeing it become a neutral sans theme is something that's interesting too and adds a new "light" on it. as the fact i even thought up what i did but never did with the previous ones should show.

Tears in the rain means its raining somewhere else This is basically the nutral run at its fullest It not quite has the same megalovania lemofits But it acquires all of sans' lemofits But if you don't finish the full nutral route you get dialogue from the creator or gaster If you type in your name gaster when you do a nutral route it restarts from the story to when you chose your name

Canon is he fights you earlier than judgement hall or last corridor then fights cause he's impatient and doesn't really understand why you did all of this therefore he fought for reason and fanon is legit because he killed papyrus and he's mad
A timeline where either- 1. You kill Papyrus AND Toriel 2. You kill Toriel 3. You kill everyone besides for sparing a regular monster like Froggit 4. You kill everyone besides Papyrus and he stops Sans halfway through the battle. The reason just killing Papyrus still triggers the regular ending is that Sans, even though he’s sad, still understands why you may have done it, like out of self-defense. The reason killing Toriel makes this happen is because she never asks Sans for the promise before the battle with her, at least in this timeline.

I think it would be better as the genocide them, and megalovania with his theme is normal neutral, but a slowed down megalovania with his theme for when paps dies.

i dunno, an obviously less fleshed-out idea along those lines was what i thought up listening to this and seeing it be conceptualized as a neutral sans battle theme. considering how clever and dangerous sans is, my idea of a fight with him to kill you at the start of the game that you can even get your way out of in itself probably has a lot of holes in it, but hey, maybe without all the time-wimey knowledge the guy has in our undertale, he wouldn't have as many tricks up his sleeve and would be easier for, say, papyrus to accidentally interrupt attempting to murder you and take your soul?
also, absolutely fantastic remix, seeing it become a neutral sans theme is something that's interesting too and adds a new "light" on it. as the fact i even thought up what i did but never did with the previous ones should show.

To get this fight, you have to have a very specific run requirement, you have to have a neutral run, where the only monster you kill is Papyrus
I'd say this could play after you kill all of the main cast, but not an actual genocide run where you target every single monster.

I'd imagine that killing undyne the undying but then sparing people in the CORE would trigger this fight instead of the normal Megalovania.
Canon is he fights you earlier than judgement hall or last corridor then fights cause he's impatient and doesn't really understand why you did all of this therefore he fought for reason and fanon is legit because he killed papyrus and he's mad
A timeline where either-
1. You kill Papyrus AND Toriel
2. You kill Toriel
3. You kill everyone besides for sparing a regular monster like Froggit
4. You kill everyone besides Papyrus
and he stops Sans halfway through the battle.
The reason just killing Papyrus still triggers the regular ending is that Sans, even though he’s sad, still understands why you may have done it, like out of self-defense. The reason killing Toriel makes this happen is because she never asks Sans for the promise before the battle with her, at least in this timeline.

Undertale was meant to be played blindly, and Sans doesn't have the ability to remember past timelines, he just knows things are reset.
