  • The June 2011 flood in Minot, North Dakota, devastated nearly half the city's homes. Could the disaster have been avoided? And what is being done to assure it doesn't happen again? "Minot: Rebuilding Dreams" chronicles Minot's recovery and mitigation efforts to present a portrait of a city on the road to recovery. Colonel Michael Price from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Gregg Wiche from the U.S. Geological Survey, Tom Carroll from FEMA in Denver, and members of the International Souris River Board offer their perspectives. The one-hour documentary also features conversations with the residents who are coping and rebuilding their city, including many who still live in the massive FEMA trailer park on the outskirts of town.
Production funding is provided by a grant from the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation

So impressive to see the spirit of people in Minot, ND. The juxtaposition of the oil boom and the flood wiping out generation's homes is a story for our country. The fact that the Minot LOCAL news channels reported 24/7 when the people reporting the news were losing their homes while they were reporting is heart wrenching. The rule book needs to change that takes care of people.

Is it fine to complain? No..with out FEMA there would be alot of families on the streets, So if there is a time limit to where you have to be out then by all means you should be. Charging rent should be. Some families i'm sure didn't keep the up keep on there trailers.Repairs Moving them all cost.
