Being an anime it's hard not to have a perverted character. Good thing that he isn't encouraged in his behaviour and is instead usually punished. I want to think that Mineta's purpose in the show is to teach the audience how not to behave. Although in my heart I know he's just another anime character archetipe that a lot of japanese readers enjoy.
Actually not a lot of Japanese readers like him in the first poll he got 17 or 18th which is solid but by the second poll he had the largest drop and went all the way to 31st place. While character like Bakugou(1st) and Kirishima(5th) had big increases. I honestly think Mineta might be more popular in the west and than in Japan.

Okay. He’s my least favourite character in the show if i were to list them all. Being an anime it's hard not to have a perverted character. Good thing that he isn't encouraged in his behaviour and is instead usually punished. I want to think that Mineta's purpose in the show is to teach the audience how not to behave. Although in my heart I know he's just another anime character archetipe that a lot of japanese readers enjoy.
Actually not a lot of Japanese readers like him in the first poll he got 17 or 18th which is solid but by the second poll he had the largest drop and went all the way to 31st place. While character like Bakugou(1st) and Kirishima(5th) had big increases. I honestly think Mineta might be more popular in the west and than in Japan.
I am aware of that, what I meant is that the archetype of perverted character is regarded as a humorous thing, and that's why you see them in a lot of mangas and animes.
this is a place where this character type makes sense. they are teenagers. they are attempting to enter the field of work with the highest public regard. it's simple to see why someone like mineta would be here.

I feel the anime punishes him enough with him being class A's punching bag.
and I beleive folks who hate on him to harshly seem to forget that one of the themes of my hero is that ANYONE with the will and drive to do good can be a hero.
granted he's doing for dubious reasons but he's still trying.
