My dad bought a brand new Willys Jeep truck in 1959 for 3000.00, as a kid I thought it was the coolest truck ever. In high school I got the keys and restored it and drove it everywhere until I wrecked it. With help from my dad's friend who found me a donor truck to use for parts, I totally rebuilt it and drove it for several more years before giving it back to dad. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for these old Jeep trucks, but I also remember how noisy they were, you could always smell gear oil and I learned how to be a mechanic because of the old Jeep because I was always fixing something on it. Dad went through two engines during the first year and was one of the first people around to swap in a Chevy V-8, a 283 from a Corvette to be exact.
It’s rare but occasionally I find a person who understands the pure simplicity and value of this early engineering, I have a 1949 with a factory flatbed I used this truck on one of the Family Ranches here in western Colorado/Eastern Utah 30 years ago luckily I ended up with the ole girl it’s mostly original not counting a bush fix or two anyway totally enjoyed You appreciation for what they are, if I watch a video and start to hear about the new frame the new drivetrain I’m gone, Great truck You have I’ll be watching !
I use "kbs diamond clear" to clear all my "patina" vehicles. It has a uv protectant and does not yellow. Does not peel. Goes on over steel and is an mcu like por-15. Cool willis!!
Hello, very nice Willys Truck. I'm in Switzerland and i'm a Jeep fan too. What is the price for a similar truck actually ? Thanks and have a good day. Mick

The front bumper beauty bar as you call it, was probably an option, because my 1953 truck front bumper looks exactly like yours.

Beautiful, loved the walk around! I’ve got an 81 scrambler and 72 commando, and daily a 97 TJ. Willys truck someday :)

Whats cool is its a truck , most worked hard and died. 54 was the only year option for the overriders , the bar actually goes behind the bumper

Linda pick-up
Linda camioneta y su demostracion, pero faltó mostrar la parte del motor, aunque la compraría así, sin ver más nada! jaja!
Mid year of the 1950 they changed the grill. Early 1950 had the 49 grill.
That’s my buddy’s Jesse old truck from BV.
The front bumper I think is orginal my 1956 pickup has the same front bumper.
Quanto custa uma camioneta da Wilkins.
