Great reaction guys!! Love me some Radiohead - and have since they first came out. They're a tough group to pigeon hole into one type of sound, because they do it all! Street Spirit has been my #1 track of theirs since it came out (nearly 30 years ago! Geez I feel old) - something about it's sombre, melancholic vibe spoke to me then (angsty teen perhaps - but I've always been drawn to the minor keys!), plus it's lyrics. OK Computer is my favourite album, but The Bends has some of my most favourite songs. Cheers!
That you picked up Nirvana is a great observation. Their first album was very much Grunge influenced. However, here you will hear they are bringing 'sound' into their songs whilst remaining 'tuneful'. Now if you are going to listen to RH, then I do recommend you listen to these albums in chronological order because their progressive sound will increase with each and boy, you are in for one heck of an amazing journey and in truth, I would like to be in your shoes experiencing this with fresh ears.
There will never be a band like this ever again. Will we ever get a final 10th album? I feel like we will, but there is plenty to enjoy in their existing work. Very special band.
They really don't like to repeat themselves so you will often see a lot of variation from album to album and often even on the same record. At the time this album came out they were really starting to spread their wings and leaving Creep far behind and they continue to change their sound and do a lot of genre blending. Their journey reminds me a lot of the Beatles they constantly refuse to be put in a neat little box and always made the music they wanted to make with less pressure on them thanks to the success of OK Computer.
Radiohead was beyond my time. I only really liked the song Creep. Naturally, me being near 70, my taste in music is heavily 60s and 70s. There are a few bands and songs past that point I have in playlists.

Street Spirit (Fade Out) is an amazing song and video...one of their best from one of their best albums.
Radiohead is purely for the soul. Melancholic beauty
If you are in your 30s or 40s and aren't aware of The Bends, that is classified as musical illiteracy.
And 50s lol

Just is my favourite song from the album!
The Bends, in my opinion, one of the top 10 albums ever made.
Heed no mind to the detractors. If you enjoyed this, that is good enough. Thank you for sharing!
Black Star is spectacular yet underrated

You shut your mouth when Street Spirt comes on.
Funnily enough, Street Spirit is my dad's favourite Radiohead song. Found it funny when you said "This is not your father's Radiohead" lol
Nip over to Hail to the thief album and check out 2+2=5 and There There.....in fact try the whole album....its MEGA!
KID A!!!!
The next time we do Radiohead, that is probably what we'll do. 😀

Mate… I absolutely love Radiohead, but I can’t listen to Creep. Please give a listen to their album “In Rainbows”
They best e oooh yes 😂❤
Time for Black Sabbath Volumen 4. Dev will love it!
I love Street Spirit, such beautifuly haunting song.
Btw, your lyrics were a little off on screen.
If you mean typos, I believe those are the way the lyrics appeared on the original CD. Authenticity! Lol
You really need to move on to their album Kid A.
That will be the next one when we do Radiohead again.
