  • Welcome to Jafffa Adventures where Jill and Terry take off for a half year trip through the remote regions of South Australia and Western Australia on a camping and 4WD odyssey. In this video we continue along the Canning Stock Route between Wells 19 and 23. Along the way we meet Matt and Holly from the Overland Travellers and cross a not so Savory Creek. Come join us on the adventure!
    If West Australia 4WD and off-road tracks, remote camping, and hiking are not on your bucket list, they should be!!
    If you like overlanding, if you like remote unspoiled places, if you like 4WD action, if you like camping from your 4x4 then this is the place to be.

    I think this is the best series on The Canning I have ever seen. You are taking your time and giving us a really good look at the different places and types of terrain. So many others seem to shoot their series as if it was a race to get done as quickly as possible. I'm not sure if the actual trip was relaxed and chilled out as it feels watching it but I love the way it comes across to us :)

      Thanks for the kind words and I’m glad that the relaxed nature of the journey is coming through in the video, because that is exactly how it was in reality. We took just over 3 weeks (24 days), most do it in 10 to 14. As an example, when we bumped into Matt and Holly it was around 3pm, close to our normal pull up time. I asked them if there was any good places to camp, and they said Georgia bore was good, and not too far away. When we split up I looked up the bore on our map and it was still 50km away. That distance would take us a whole day to traverse. Needless to say, we pulled up for camp at the side of the track a km or 2 from where we met them😊😎

    Really enjoying your trip Jill and Terry - I love your laid back presentation and banter, and really appreciate your attention to the details of nature as well as the wider landscape views. I also love your animated route map updates with the little car thingy - could you please tell me how you do that? I'd like to have a crack at that - OK I'm off to watch the rest of your trip now! Take care guys! Cheers, Col

      Thanks for the kind words Col, I’m glad you are finding some value in your journey with us, that’s super cool😎. The route is just a screenshot of the various maps, with a little 4WD overlayed on it. I think the program is called map generator or something like that. I’m not in front of my computer ATM, so I cannot remember for certain (I downloaded it years ago). Cheers👍😎

    Another interesting and informative video with humorous comments. I’m sure that’s not a .22 magnum but a 243 shell.

    Great episode Terry. Hope the Starlink problems were just a tiny glitch in the Matrix (this is what happens when you take the blue pill.). I've had the pleasure of meeting Matt and Holly a few times at the Adelaide 4WD show. Their channel has come a long way from the old hilux they originally were in. Elsie was a great resto, but the 2nd time I saw it she was starting to look tired. I've not seen their completed Troopy in person as they missed last years 4WD show sadly, but she certainly looks like a comfortable and capable tourer. Anyway... did you happen to watch that movie I recommended to you on Iview?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was indeed just a glitch in the Matrix, sorted itself out by the time we pulled up at our next camp and has not glitched since🤷‍♂️. Matt and Holly are good folks, met them a couple times now. I enjoy what they do for the most part, excluding the sponsorship stuff. I have not watched the movie yet mate. Cheers👍😎

    Another Lovely Ep guys, Not sure that was a 22 Magnum looked more like a 308 or 223 shell,

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Craig, a few comments have indicated that the shell was more a high power rifle shell as you suggest. Can you tell I have not been around too many firearms😂😉

    Hi Terry and Jill. Realy enjoy your episodes. You have been talking about corrugations. Can you tell us what your BP51s settings are? We are planning the CSR, in a 2021 LC 200 fitted with BP 51s, next year. Thanks in advance. Cheers Terry and Pam

      Good stuff Terry, you will love it mate. We may cross paths as I am considering doing it again in 2024. Our shocks are set at 4 on compression and 3 on the rebound. They are the best most compliant suspension I have owned, I rate them very highly (just not the shock guards). Go well mate👍😎

    What is the brand of your storage bag on your spare wheel. I notice you can carry 4 maxtrax in it. Does it still have a reasonable size bag as well for rubbish etc

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The storage bag is from Drifta, but it’s not a perfect solution. It holds 2 trax in a pouch in the back of the bag. If that’s all of we’re carrying it would be fine. However, as you noted, I carry 4. To do this, I simply use the Maxtrax carrier designed for the spare wheel and then put the Drifta bag over that. If I have to access my trax, the rubbish bag has to come off. I’m yet to find a solution where the rubbish bag carrries 4 tracks that can be accessed without removing the bag. Let me know if you find one as I would be interested 👍😎

      Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if anyone has designed a bag for four maxtrax. I carry mine on the roofrack but the take up valuable space

      @stevedennis4563 yes indeed, I have not seen one either. I’ll keep my eyes peeled, sooner or later I’m sure someone will. Thanks for the info👍😎

    22-250 maybe?

      The consensus seems to be a 308 or 222. I’m certainly no expert 😉👍
