Thanks for that. My one evening in fethiye was spent in the harbour on a gulet about 12 years ago. We had stopped for supplies and the other passengers went ashore for the evening. I had really bad earache and stayed behind. Fortunately with the help of some olive oil I managed to remove the wax causing the issues overnight and hence enjoyed the rest of the week pain free. So you have just filled in what I missed. Thanks a million I enjoyed immensely . So pleased you are getting better cancer is a serious thing. Keep hiking and you will destroy it from within mother earth will protect you for helping others to enjoy its planet. 😊

We must also thank the great medical professionals who treat us. Six months ago I had a procedure called catheter ablation after being diagnosed with wolff parkinson white syndrome a heart issue. The problem occurred while I was walking on 4 occasions. I have recovered well and am now walking the hills of Staffordshire again near where I live. I share your joy at being able to enjoy hiking again.

@@Limelad-b31 I agree, although I have a big problem with medicine becoming more a business than an urge to cure. One has to be very alert to what you want them to do for you. Take care and keep walking

Me and the wife were in Fetiye this past September, sadly we only had one clear day before setting out on the Lycian way. But I had no idea there were these rock tombs so close to the old centre which we both thought fantastic. However I did spend the morning at the hospital you attended! Must say although I obviously had to pay for my consultation the service was superb, I needed to see an ear ,nose and throat specialist and I did and with only an appointment made on a Sunday the day before. Believe me when I tell you that in broken Britain seeing a GP never mind a specialist is nigh impossible. Loved Fethiye though, would love to return sometime.

I know the medical situation in many countries is a problem. And If you go to a private hospital here things go even faster. No waiting times at all. And if you have an accident and are picked up by an ambulance that's free too. Unreal!

So much to see in Fethiye. I love that in Turkey they have so much free for families.

I love those little back lanes and old roads. Despite their economy not being the best, Turkey does spend a lot of money fixing up even many of the back streets nicely and on restoring all the ruins. The streets are very clean as well. I wonder how they sell all that fish in the market quick enough to stay fresh.. but they must or it wouldn't be on display. The seafronts of the cities are also gorgeous in a different way. That was a bonus walk up through the back of Fetiha for us. Fabulous having Red to stay the night in there. And best news that you got the green light at the hospital next day. Congratulations! And thanks for that nice walk !

Those little streets a so special. In Europe that would be the most expensive part of a place. Looking al too nice. This was still from the original families. So nice to see

@@AtHomeInTurkey I only went to Turkey once, in 2019. Staying in Balat in Istanbul a few days of it, I missed seeing some if the places, like the palace, you are supposed to see because I would be wandering the backstreets, stopping to give every street dog a 5 minute personal time massage, and wasn't bothered to watch time. Delicious bean soup and creamy rice in a scruffy little cafe! I did go to the underground water place and the Hagia Sophia though both of which were lovely. I like back streets best. Like you, I'm not a shopper!
