- So I was wondering what Season 3 of Skam would have looked like from Even's perspective and this is the result. While mostly an experiment, as someone who IDs very heavily with Even (which we all know, peep that BP thread), I thought it'd be interesting to try and shift the view from Isak to Even; I wanted to see if I could realistically portray his viewpoint by catching some of his more nuanced moments and really bringing them to light.
In regards to editing, I kept things relatively simple. I didn't want to add any SE, to detract or distract from the relationship itself. Skam is shot in a simple way and I wanted to keep up with that aesthetic because it felt most fitting. It's less of an edit and more of, like, a retelling, if that makes sense.
The title is obvious. Yeah, the video is technically focused on Even, not Isak, but it's about what falling in love with Isak was like through his eyes and, well, isn't that the whole point?

Their acting is so good... Everything feels so real... I usually have a hard time watching tv because of the acting, but Skam is perfect! I wish more shows would be like this.

Justin K Me neither. The only thing that was bothering me a little was how easy it was for Even to cheat on his girlfriend with a stranger.
I think of that a lot actually. And I came to the conclusion that Even somewhere deep down thought that, because of his bipolar disorder, nobody would actually want to be with him except her, and that's probably the reason why they were dating for so long, even as though Even clearly didn't feel very romantic for her any more.
I guess he wanted to know if Isak felt the same, and if there relationship was going anywhere, he could start making active movements away from her.
Also he said "She's in control", which indicates that she is able to manipulate him and to make him stay with her. She probably won't stop trying to get them back together unless she is sure she lost Even.
Aaand what Even does is also minor cheating, since he immediately went to Sonja to break up after he kissed Isak.
Justin K Yeah, I discussed this with other Skamilys and we came to that conclusion, so I forgive him. He was also terrified of being *alone* during a depressive/manic episode, that's why it took him so long to leave Sonja. I guess we can all forgive him.

Ok first of all, to build a home is one of my favorite songs ever. The fact that in one song a composer managed to represent such melancholy and sadness but also hope and happiness (and a bit of euphoria as well?) mesmerises me. And you used it so well. I mean, yes, you made a lineal review of their moments, but is nothing ordinary or simple, it's actually so beautifully done, at least from my perspective. I really want to congratulate you and say thanks for making such a nice video 💜

this is beautiful. you picked the perfect song. you showed them the way they are: pure, not trying to be special or anything they are not; just people. this is what makes them special, and this is why we are so obsessed with them. they are not trying. they just live and they found what makes them happy. Even found somebody with whom he he can be lonely together, somebody to let him sleep in his bed when he can't breathe because of sadness.
Isak found somebody who loves him. truly. who shows him what his life could be. who challenges him. Even gives him a feeling of having found the place where he belongs. they are thankful for each other.
so far my opinion about Skam.

I remember when isak told Evan to make a film about him and he said it was going to be a piece of shit and even said he would call it "the boy who couldn't hold his breath underwater". And this is one of the best edits I've seen in evens perspective

I love the concept of shifting the perspective to Even's, and I think you were able to achieve that. I love the choice of keeping the raw aesthetic of the show. Also love the song choice; it's one of my favorite songs, and I love how you matched the moments to the dynamics and emotion of the song. I think season 4 is supposed to air in spring. The trailer should be released sometime in February/March.
There are people who subtitle the clips about like 1 hour after they air, like Feudly and others (i'm subscribed to Feudly). The original clips are aired on the official SKAM p3 site skam.p3.no/ . You just have to search on youtube for subbed clips when the new season starts. I'm sure somebody will translate the clips as they air. (you know they air in real time, right?)
PS: just to warn you that you shouldn't wait too much to watch the subbed clips on youtube, as they will probably get deleted or muted soon. Feudly's clips from last season have already been deleted. But we still have the google drives with the complete episodes :)

I just watched the video and I was speechless. At the end I tought "ehi this is kinda looking at Isak from Even's loving-eyes perspective" and then I read the description sooo GREAT JOB, REALLY LOVE IT.
I spent this evening watchîg the entire s3 without pause and I can't handle how good this show is 😍 these 2 are the purest thing I've ever seen on tv and now I can't stop watching Evak videos! first off, thanks so much! i hardly think it's a masterpiece, but i appreciate the compliment nonetheless.
yeah, i know. i was considering waiting until the end of the season to do the video/post it, but i also felt as though the place i finished the video with was more important? like. obviously the way things tied together at the end was beautiful, but that's not the end of even's story, either, y'know?
(i also don't know how well it would have worked given i only cut the song a few seconds to make this content fit and i think it would have been timed very differently if i hadn't.)
for me, this video wasn't necessarily about him getting a happy ending; the season finale seemed to support that, as well. sometimes it's just about things being okay, because okay may be as good as it gets. and that's really what i wanted to portray here. as much as i loved the scene of them before the party or in the kitchen, i'm glad i didn't include them because, imo, they didn't fit the narrative.
i knew the season would end with something cute and fluffy for them (thank goodness) but it didn't feel like something i needed to include. we all knew it was coming, right? and that cute and fluffy is only temporary. that's what i wanted to show. sometimes the best things get when you're mentally ill is enough, and that felt the most appropriate ending to me.
you tooooootally didn't ask for this explanation, so sorry, but i thought i may have to address it at some point, anyway, and here we are.
:) i totally saw the message you were trying to put across and you put it across amazlingly (don't be so modest :P) i think i just love the ending scenes way too much.
