  • A tribute to a fine racer who owned, maintained and drove his yellow #60 against many of the top teams in the northeast during the 1970's and 1980's.

Great driver, Tom Michel, liked watching him race at Wall.

I believe it was 1971 when Tom was injured at East Windsor on a Friday night. Tom had the Tri State Owners and Drivers Association logo on his car. I do not think Jones gave him any static over it, even though Fried from Naz, Betty Gessner from OCFS, and Kuhl from Flem were hardline against Tri State. It was pre cell phone and Social media. The next night at Harmony the drivers went thru the stands and took up a collection for Tom to help with his medical expenses

Any body remember the logo on the trunk lid of his Pinto body Modified - it was a drawing of one or two desparados dressed in a serapes and sombreros they might have even been on horseback and it was labeled "Pedro's Pu$$y Posse" ? It lasted a week or two, then I think NASCAR asked him nicely to remove it and Tom complied with their request.
