You did 2 mistakes here. 1st thing : you did not locate any stud behind the drywall.Second, you cannot use regular speaker wire but instead a CL3 or CL2 rated speaker wire. Have a nice day!
Hello_ Yes, most people have their homes prewired while it's being built. And if not, their butlers or nanny's should certainly be able to pull wire through the attic while your vacationing in the Hampton's. God forbid you have to be present while your "boy" installs it!
Couple of BIG mistakes you made! You should clean the drywall dust inside the hole with a damp rag. The cut edge of the dry wall should be covered with masking tape. The worst thing for ceiling speakers is the drywall dust getting in the speaker from installing it or from vibration. You also put the speaker face down in the dust on top of the ladder.
It's a drywall knife...just hold the template to the ceiling with your hand, the double stick tape ruined the paint on the ceiling, why not use your glasses to keep drywall dust out of your eyes? Get a drill with a clutch and run the screws through the speaker bracket half way, it's easier on your shoulders and the clutch keeps the screws from getting too tight. Don't put the speaker upside down on the ladder, you could damage the bezel or the tweeter. You'll eventually get the hang of it.
If my home being built is pre-wired for speakers which are located at the ceiling can I use this same type of round ceiling speaker, or do I need to have speakers that hang from the ceiling? Does anybody have a video for this or some sort of guidance?
If the home came prewired with that speaker wire I'd be wary of other shortcuts and things not up to code done to the house. Probably a more useful video would be to share who the builder was to warn other potential home buyers to stay clear.

Only way to find out is to know/figure out which way the joists are going. Otherwise, cut a path in drywall.

do you needed to put any sound proof behind the speaker so the sound wont traver to the second floor as much ?

+lenzcrafters - Most homes come prewired, this is done before gyp-rock is put up. In my house I just tossed wires across my attic.
