It’s a retro jazz theme.. so the costume, music, choreography is perfect... Anushka was simply superb in carrying out every step with the exact body posture required. She’s a fantastic and expressive dancer . Priyanka is great too.
I think Anuskha exemplified the spirit of 1920s swing and was very much in character. Which is why it seems like it feels awkward watching her with 21st century eyes, knowing how dance has evolved up to now. On the other hand, you watch Priyanka dancing like a modern person would dance but with the steps of 1920s swing, it feels awkward if you know how 1920s swing actually looks like. But then Priyanka pulls it off because of the confidence and Joie de vivre behind the performance.
I agree, perfect homage to the early dance form that was captured on film and perhaps started the modern dance form. Anushka carried this out perfectly.
I have seen Indian audience or music industry getting obsessed with one singer and then pretending that others don't exist. It's so sad we don't get to hear Sunidhi as much now. Honestly, to me, nobody comes even close to her excellence. What a vocal queen.

There are equally talented singers like Shreya who are even classically trained such as Monali Thakur and Palak but they are not given equal opportunities .
