@bertam46, thank you for the compliment. Bill and I have worked well together and its been a fun friendship in the making. Definitely happy to have Bill as a friend.
Bill you are THE BEST! You are one of two salesman in my 57 years that I like and that has integrity ! The other gentleman was a man named Dennis whom I got aquinted with back in. 1994 when I moved into my first apartment. He was a furniture salesman and I bought my bedroom set from his store and later some other things when I bought my house in 2004. Another HONEST fine gentleman !
Old friend of mine was a salesman for Lincoln in the 70s. He had a grey one like that, he was kind enough to let me borrow it for dates. I would detail the car for him. As far as ride & quiet it may be the nicest car I ever drove. I currently have a premium luxury Cadillac, they are quiet but don't ride like this did.
Sergio came out better than the other car, this one has the original tires and to me, that’s the ultimate tale of a low mile car! Congrats to him. All my cars have their original tires
@johnrand8753, Thank you for the compliment! I am very exited to have this car and especially with the original tires. Your definitely right, that having the original tires speaks to the originality! And as Bill mentioned, I didn't have to pay the BaT fees on this one! Thank you again.
Amazing story Bill and Sergio - what a great outcome. My gut feeling looking at DJ #2 is that this one looks just a touch sharper than #1. My God that engine bay is absolutely factory pristine. I wonder if the electric aerial works? Man I gotta know that! As for FedEX... don't get me started on their "policies" and procedures. Any car guy who's had paperwork or parts shipped will know first-hand the angst attached to that...been there done that. I have just bought a 76 Rolls from the UK (I live in Australia) and the paperwork is being shipped separately, I pray no issues with that after your experience. One day I will snap something up from you Bill, I love American cars. ✌
Well I appreciate all of that! Yes the antenna works. And I think from now on I may have the customer secure that stuff in the trunk or glove box. Best of luck with your Rolls!!
@markhooper, thank you for the nice words and compliments on the car. Man I hope your paperwork for that Rolls comes in safe ! Hopefully you can snatch something up from Bill one day too!!
You know what Bill? I could watch you all day with your cars! I love your presentation style, you are so informative & your cars are just stunning! Keep up the great videos mate, they are a joy to watch. 👍😎
I well remember those boats when they were new. They were monstrosities then and Ford had no where left to go with that design I can't imagine driving one today. Best left as a display in some collection
Wonderful video. That's drama indeed. I hope you find the original documents, but please don't use tape or ordinary adhesive to repair them if they're torn. Check with a local librarian or conservator for tips on repairing the papers, or check with me LOL ;)
What an incredible story. The most important document would be the title. All the rest is very nice, but not vital. Does this have the umbrella and tool kit, do you know?
My parents has some friends who drove their cars hard and put them away wet as the old saying goes. They bought a new DJ and it didn't look as good as this one after the first month. It was a basket case after two years.
@@christianbugatticg oh man, that sucks ... No luck getting them even though they are damaged then? Hope Sergio still is happy with the amazing car you found him non the less. 👌🏻💪
Hot rods yes, luxo/barges few & far between. I love the 61-67 Lincoln convertibles ,there's only a few people alive that can keep those tops working alive.

This may be a dream car of a man who can only afford one car. Smh
The man had this car on his wish list. Everyone else had a chance to buy the last Diamond Jubilee on the open market. There was a glitch that day or Sergio would have owned the first one. I felt terrible that he missed it. He’s been good to me and extremely loyal. That means something to me. I intentionally searched out this car for him. Not sure what the problem is. If Sergio wanted the car so bad he shouldn't have been a cheapskate trying to nickel and dime the auction by waiting until the last 30 seconds to place his bid. Next time, Sergio, put your money where your mouth is and bid what you are willing to pay.
@mikek5298 Thank you for the advice. This might come in handy the next time I decide to buy something. What should happen next time is that someone like you should try putting something in your mouth (whatever you deem satisfactory) and keep it shut. Anyone who knows me knows I come to buy, I don't know you but I would imagine you are are either not savy or you must suffer from a delusional case of pure ass to tell someone else how to bid. Either way I'm happy to hear that my action burns you the way it does. Maybe you should put your money where your mouth is and buy yourself a classic or something else to entertain you! 😂
No no no..... On that auction site, MOST people wait for 10 seconds to go. And I can ASSURE you that Sergio is one of THE NICEST and MOST SERIOUS collectors out there that I am aware of. He is close to TEN cars just from me in less than 2 years. He doesn't play!! lol! I think you misunderstood. The server for Bring a Trailer actually crashed an hour before. I owned this same car, same color with the same interior and a moon roof. Absolutely a land yacht and so comfortable.
