Jakes is a good cautionary tale of the dangers of listening to a man who is a "dynamic heretic". He has strange beliefs about the Trinity, and his seared conscience allows him to practice greed and an extravagant lifestyle, but he has a huge following because he seems like a dynamic preacher. You need to consider what a preacher actually believes - not just whether his passion makes you feel like standing up and shouting sometimes. Following the wrong preacher because of his fiery style, is like marrying the wrong woman because you like her pretty face.
Jake's is a wonderful enterprise of success and a great motivator, but I wouldn't let him pray for me. Stop looking at the man and look at what he has endorsed and how he has vacillated for when he first started preaching even as little as 15 years ago and how the message has changed.

Not making excuse but she looks like a teen. If you look all throughout the service all the kids/teens are distracted. COGIC parents force their kids to go to church and attend all of these services that are geared towards adults. There are normally seperate services and events for the younger crowd.
@@etgrider77 I agree. However, there are some exceptions. I grew up COGIC. Not a boring moment until we've been sitting in the same spot for 4-5 hours except for bathroom breaks. I was in a choir, usher all that. I seldom got dragged to church, very seldom. I beat my mama there sometime. All my friends were there!!! All I can say is I thank God for my upbringing or it would have taken me years of sin until I came to Him. I was 21.

Jakes is a good cautionary tale of the dangers of listening to a man who is a "dynamic heretic". He has strange beliefs about the Trinity, and his seared conscience allows him to practice greed and an extravagant lifestyle, but he has a huge following because he seems like a dynamic preacher.
You need to consider what a preacher actually believes - not just whether his passion makes you feel like standing up and shouting sometimes.
Following the wrong preacher because of his fiery style, is like marrying the wrong woman because you like her pretty face.
Jake's is a wonderful enterprise of success and a great motivator, but I wouldn't let him pray for me. Stop looking at the man and look at what he has endorsed and how he has vacillated for when he first started preaching even as little as 15 years ago and how the message has changed.

Not making excuse but she looks like a teen. If you look all throughout the service all the kids/teens are distracted. COGIC parents force their kids to go to church and attend all of these services that are geared towards adults. There are normally seperate services and events for the younger crowd.
@@etgrider77 I agree. However, there are some exceptions. I grew up COGIC. Not a boring moment until we've been sitting in the same spot for 4-5 hours except for bathroom breaks. I was in a choir, usher all that. I seldom got dragged to church, very seldom. I beat my mama there sometime. All my friends were there!!! All I can say is I thank God for my upbringing or it would have taken me years of sin until I came to Him. I was 21.
