      Dude.. in 2008 we were paying £5000-7000($7-9000) for pristine Dupra TT6, R32 GTRs and maybe an extra thousand fir a super mint S15 R. The last car I bought before the 08 crash was a grade 4 180SX with 48k KMs. Full history. I paid £1300 ($1600).
      Then came the crash but things had settled by 2012.
      Then came the Americans. Holy shit did the prices go through the roof.i can't help but chuckle at people paying $25k for a piece if shit GTSt 😂

    And just a shout out to all of ya considering moving to Denmark (probably not a lot haha):
    Prices in DK for the cars you mention, stock condition with a lot of miles puttin in to the cars;
    E36 coupe is around 7500 USD
    S13 is around 13000 USD
    AND to top that, we are not allowed to make engine changes without paying some serious amount of cash and spending some serious time figuring out what is legal and what not (No one really knows for sure)...
    I envy you guys...

    • @HeathyRoidz
      @HeathyRoidz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@existanze1637you 100% should, first thing you should do, quick checkup, make sure the brakes are ok, meaning, brake pads, and if the brakes are properly bled. Replace the oil, make sure there are no metal shavings. Check the cooling system, the fans like to break alot. Figure out if the clutch has any life left. The first thing you should do as far as mods go, weld the diff(or buy an lsd). Also the cooling system is prone to fail, so look into upgrading those if you need. And maybe some decent 200$ seats just to make sure youre not falling out of the car. Next steps, prlly a handbrake, a smaller steering wheel, handle kit if u feel like its needed.

    The most cost effective start-out driftcar is easily an NA or NB (whichever is cheapest/condition) with a bucket seat, 155 14" tires in the back, simple steering angle mod and a hydro. Your biggest cost of drifting is usually fuel and tires (besides breakdowns). A stock engine miata will get you farther on every set of very cheap new tires, and will be dirt cheap on fuel, which gives you more tracktime for your money and prepares you for the next step.

    • @chelseadenofa
      @chelseadenofa  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I started on a NA Miata and I still have one. I can say they are great. BUT they do not work on fast tracks, and the drivetrain is not very strong, so you are limited at about 200whp for reliability without spending a ton of money. Great car, cheap fun for sure!

    • @bingoberra18
      @bingoberra18 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool, did you try it on 155s? 200whp goes a long way with 155s or even wider, and thats way more power than the two cars in the video anyway, but yeah it might not be a keeper for going pro, but it might benefit you in the long run instead of starting out with something easier. I think some may think its very hard to drift though because of the short wheelbase, but the miata actually is very easy to handle and light on its driver. In many of them you also have a torsen LSD as standard. And the 6-speed NB is more tough than the 5 speeds.

    I’m saving around 3000 dollars for my first car. I know it’s not much but it’s my budget. I understand drifting is expensive but I want to turn whatever car I get into a super clean street and drift car ,it’s probably a project that won’t be condo let’s for several years since I’m going to learn to work on it myself (no one around me are really car people they don’t see the point). I’ve seen a lot of E36 suggestions and personally I don’t like S13’s much. Would going with a e36 be worth it? How much am I looking at spending on it to restore it (my vision is having a clean stock sleeper looking car that’s able to get rowdy). And get drift mods?
    Also I’m on the east coast, rust is a real issue out here. Should I be looking for other dry states to buy and how could I prevent rust if I do get it back to the east?

    • @chelseadenofa
      @chelseadenofa  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My compact is probably as close as you're going to get to that. Easily a 10k build if you did all the work yourself tho... Downside is that you need flares in the front when you have a lot of steering angle... and thats why I have flares in the rear, to even it out.

  • @xTheNameisEthan

I would like to get the 318 or the 325 but have people telling me to get the 328 or the 330, would getting either the 318 or the 325 be fine for learning to drift? since by me I can get the 325 between 650- 1500 bucks

      The 36/46 Bmw's with a seat are pretty damn good. If you want to keep stock seat, you can get a NON sunroof car to help. In my e36 I have about 10 inches till I hit my head. Im SHORT at 5'11 but I would think headroom wise, you could easily fit.

    I think it's worth noting that not every little issue is worth "$100 off." A reasonable seller will adjust their asking price based on the outstanding issues the car is likely to have. Approaching the transaction with this mentality, and having a buyer that's totaling up these imaginary discounts in their head towards the justification for a lowball offer is going to frustrate an informed seller that's already taken it into consideration.

    • @chelseadenofa
      @chelseadenofa  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Bradlee Alderman ANDDDDD save you money. Hustle for the best price. It’s the sellers problem if he lets it go too cheap. Low balls are OK if you are there with cash and pointing out The issue.
