Oregon IMPRESSES & Michigan STRUGGLES: Week 4 Big Ten Power Ratings

- Oregon impresses, Michigan struggles, and Nebraska dominates in Week 3. In my Week 4 Big Ten power ratings, I describe the order or hierarchy in the Big Ten Conference entering Week 4. I think Ohio State Football is clearly No.1, but Penn State Football and Oregon Football follow closely behind. Michigan Football has a lot of potential, but they are not utilizing it properly, leading Nebraska, USC, Rutgers, and Iowa to all gain ground on the Wolverines. Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan State have been impressive as well. We talk about all of this and more in this episode of College Football with Sam. Way too much bias towards Michigan. That paid off when they won last year, but based on what we’ve seen this year, they don’t look good. Even if Michigan magically does better this week onwards, at this point, I totally disagree with them being ranked that high

As a Duck fan, I hate defending USC. USC has the best win in the conference so far, and you have them 7th? You said there is an argument to have them 4th, but based on in the field results, they should be second. You can't really put anyone above OSU unless they beat them.
Personally I think USC should be at least top 5. I think Penn st should be behind Oregon. Michigan at 4 I can understand only losing to number 3 in the country but I think they’re more likely 5 or 6

I believe he said USC has the highest ceiling out of the "tier 3" teams. Mich, nebraska, rutgers, SC.
As a Ohio state fan, this is my unbiased picks. Ohio State is clearly No.1, but Oregon is starting to look a little better. Penn State could potentially be frauds, considering they only beat BG by a TD at home, and Michigan has quite a lot of problems both Offensively and Defensively. And even though for Michigan, it might appear that starting Orji over Warren is better, we really don't know how well Orji can throw the ball yet, and I understand Michigan is a team that likes to run the football, but you still got to be able to throw the ball, and Defensively, they're blitzing too much, which is why I definitely think Martindale could possibly become Don Brown 2.0, as they're defensive schemes are both pretty similar, involving blitz-heavy defenses. And my record prediction for Michigan was 9-3 in the preseason with losses to Texas, oregon, and Ohio State, but now it's about 7-5 with losses to Texas (which happened), USC, Washington, Oregon, and Ohio State.

Objective ratings such as FPI have Indiana way higher and Michigan way lower. What remains to be seen is how they do against top tier teams. This from a Michigan alum. OhSU had a hard time with Akron until the Zips' QB went down. With theior skill players, they're built to destroy bad teams. Let's see how they do against teams that are better than Bottom 10 quality.

Check your conference bias at the 🚪. BG wakes up when they want to. They gave the natty champs a fight last year (despite the final score) and pulled some staff straight from psu this season so factor that into that game. UK is actually similar to BG in that they can wake up or be total duds some games. Mans talking like GA wasn’t favored by 22 lmao.

Ohio State is the clear #1. I am not sold on any other team for the #2 spot, and I believe that Ohio State would be a 2 TD favorite against any team except for Oregon because the game is in Autzen Stadium. Sure, the Buckeyes go to State College, but I think that the Buckeyes will beat them by 21 or more.
This is just a season that belongs to Ohio State. Get used to it.
