I don't know about the rest of you, but I really like the tennis outfits back in the day. It would be cool to see the retro style come back.

I love Rosie's serve. It seems so easy.

The serving from the wrong side starts with Casals at 5-1. Perhaps they were confused by the change of sides, with that "13-point" (we call it 12-point now) tiebreaker being relatively new.

@Humptasticc In the actual year-end rankings, Yes Chris was given the number 1 ranking for 1978. She was ranked number 1, 7 times. People think because Martina was ranked number 1 year-end by the WTA that she was given the world number 1 (year-end) , she wasn't it was 6-3 decision, in favor of Chirs Evert, Tennis Magazine (US & Austalia) World Tennis Magazine, International Tennis Federation, John Barrett and Joe McCauley all voted Chris, Bud Collins, L. Tinsley and WTA voted Martina.

Phyllis George's commentary is so infantile and laugh-out funny Tony Trabert has to pinch himself from laughing out loud. Wow, where did they get this bimbo? Thank goodness she didn't stay around in tennis.

Evert got the number 1 vote from the tennis writers for 78 and 79. She also did from all the European writers for 74, but Bud Collins didn't for various, more personal reasons. 74 was one of Evert's greatest years with a 55 match winning, streak, the French Open,Wimbledon, Finals of the Australian, and semis of the US. Tomasi who kept realstatistics said Evert deserved the number one spot easily. 78-79 was a toss up, but Evert came out better at the end of each year, even without the French.

Chris was number one for 1978 and was clearly the number 2 player for 1979. And Chris won the French in 79 . Chris barely hung on to number 2 in 79 because Austin won the open defeating Chris and Martina and beating Chris 5 times to 2 losses in 79 . Tracy was third

En el primer match-point Evert saca el primero de sus dos saques del lado equivocado ( el lado derecho ). El segundo saque lo hace del lado izquierdo. Y Casals hace su primer saque de ese mismo lado. | Esteban.

Vin Scully is the guy on the very left of Tony Trabert and Phyllis George. Scully has been the voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers for 60 years. How come we don't get to hear Vin speak? On a recent list, Vin Scully is the #1 sportscaster of all time.

Some of you can be so hyper critical of others---chill out and pump your brakes! Start with improving yourselves and eat more fiber! To help unload the over inflated image you have of yourself

George is a joke whether you insult me or not. Now , do you feel superior? How can you criticize someone for being too critical when your doing the same thing. It’s like hitting your child and telling them at the same time not to hit someone. Fool.

At 6-2, why does Evert serve to the ad court again? No one seems to act as if this is out of the ordinary. At 6-3 the point is played to the same court once again. Were there special rules for the tournament?

Should have at least played super tie breaks...not sure if they existed back then. The quality of the tennis is not good. Even taking the wooden racquets and clay into account, it's still club level and not entertaining to watch.

Wasn't Rosie Casals a Top 5 player in 1975 when this exhibition match was played? She looks awfully bad in this match, shanking volleys and easy put aways. Chris was prob laughing to herself that she had it so easy against Rosie. I guess women's tennis has come a long way if you look at a player like Rosie in 1975. She prob wouldn't even last a set against Serena today. She couldn't even rally to stay in a point against Chris on the baseline. Com'on Rosie, HIT the ball.
