I used these C4 for miking my drums as overheads, and sometimes just with bass mic(PL33) . They did the job well, and they are not bad for the price, and could last very long. I suggest these for everyone who need cheap but not bad at all equipment. Never used them with guitar or amp.

Not a bad sounding mic, definatley a noticeable difference when applying the filter.

I’ve one for the review Shane, I used to work for the U.K. distributor of Behringer and we used to sell thousands of Behringer mics, couldn’t buy enough of them, for the money they are really well made, good sound quality & reproduction from the ones I’ve used (C1 & C2) and you get plenty for your money, Behringer range is a mix of some really good products & some are shocking admittedly, but to be honest in the last 15-20years their quality of majority of their range has improved a lot, you always gonna get your Behringer haters and the Snobbery of I only use Shure, Boss etc but that’s upto them if they want to spend 10 times more for something which is not that much difference in comparison without trying an alternative first then go ahead. Good shout on the Rode M3 mic as well, it’s been on my mind for a while now to get one mainly for micing guitar amps but for other applications as well, cheers Shaney boy!! Top Banana!! as we sometimes say in Manchester England.

Man that hard carrying case is a huge plus! I bought a matched pair of the Rode M5 small diaphragm condenser microphones and have really loved the results I've gotten, but not having a case for them has been a big bummer.

Great vid, thanks, I was looking for mics for my Yamaha thr10, I want to street perform on a budget and these seem perfect to mic up the stereo speakers of the thr10 into a small PA mix. Now I can use my thr10 as a monitor and mic to the mixer for more volume. The double mic stand adapter sold me, perfect for thr10. Thanks Shane.

Listened with my reference monitors as well as with a hi-fi setup and my iPad: iPad sounded the best, I did hear some tiny muddies with the Behringers on my reference monitors and hi-fi, but considering most people now listen to music on their phones and tablets with questionable headphones, I’d say these things rock. It’s a bummer the workers manufacturing this gear are so poorly treated, but ya gotta know when to choose your fights. Thanks for the review, Shane.

Great review. Very comprehensive! I own a pair of Behringer ECM-8000 measurement mics which are killer omni-directional mics for recording orchestras or any instrument or vocal if the room acoustics are great. These however would be handier when I need a more focused cardoid sound. I already have a great matched pair of Marshall MX-603S small diaphragm condenser mics, but these would be great to have as a back up during gigs and I love that it comes with that nice stereo mic bar.

  • @drharmonica

Seems to be a pretty good deal. I thought the C-4 sounded just as good as the Rode Mike when recording the amp. I couldn't really hear any difference. I've bought a few Behringer products in the past. Some are better than others. I have the Behringer V amp rack mounted amplifier simulator. It was many hundreds of dollars cheaper than the top line models such as the Line 6. I've been very pleased with its performance and sounds.

Had a set of these for about a year now... No where near as good as a large diaphragm condenser, but pretty darn good for the price. They have their own 'colour' to the sound. If for extra pocket money you ever take up race calling the be sure to use one of these wind socked C-4's with HPF switched in and lots of compression to sound the part...

It's always a matter of personal taste. I find the C4 stereo set quite boxy sounding compared to the C2 but it's probably just because I'm after a different type of sound. Everyone should use what match better his taste and his workflow :-)

1c below $60 isn't $59, Shane. Also it's US prices on the Amazon link and you have to add $11 shipping (maybe more for Oz?) then convert to AUD (You are an Aussie channel after all).
Still and all, seem like a good deal if you can get the lowest price. Best I can find in Australia is AUD$99.

I do hear a nasty top end, I think if you intent to drive this mic, wether with loud sound or used as room mics and process the signal afterward and make it loud, you will hear lots of brittle and nasy stuff... I think these mics are best used conseratively, just modest, no revealing of the bottom of the signal or make the mics sound real loud , you're probably ok

I’ve used C2 and C4 simultaneously on a choir for live sound… C4’s were unusable… gain before feedback was really bad… i know it’s more sensitive than C2, but to capture the same source with the C4 was impossible.. it just feback before anyrthing was barely audible… for Home studio maybe…

Hey Shane - what a great video mate. I admire your content, very informative and the the way you edited it all together is first class. So what is your honest opinion to the quality (as in self noise) of these puppies? I can see they are great for close up to an acoustic guitar or miking up powerful applications such as a speaker cab and Possibly a drum overhead but with quieter things like talking from around 2 feet away, what are your thoughts? I appreciate they are budget mics but would an extra $100 or $200 make a huge difference ? I have a Saramonic dual Channel pre for my camera and I’m looking at creating “talking head” type videos and playing acoustic instruments. - sorry for all the questions .......Peter.

Behringer used to be so cheaply made that if you moved their products too much they'd break. I haven't bought any of their stuff in years because of this. I know a lot of church's buy behringer cause they're cheap plus in a church environment you're not really moving stuff around a whole lot cause once it's set-up it pretty much stays that way. I almost bought a bugera amp till I realised it was ultimately made by behringer so I passed on it.
