Thank you for your story Dr Messinger... I enjoyed every second of it and watched it twice. On behalf of the United States I would like to apologize for our actions 'not allowing you and your family entry' my deepest sympathies. Thank you

I have seen the film "Voyage of the Damned" about the SS St Louis and often wondered what happened to the survivors. Excellent interview and superb interviewer. The song he heard at the train station was "J'attendrai" one of my favourites.

This wonderful Man reminds me so very much of my Beloved Father, who grew up in the Jim Crow South (both my Parents did) and had so many of his own stories. Father God really does look out for His Resilient Beloved and those who don't give up. 🥺🤧 In the days of Covid and Healthcare being a disaster zone, I would have LOVED for this Gentleman to be my Doctor! Thank you for your amazing testimony! 🙏🏽✝️💫

Thank you for a very meaningful testimony. It was so vivid, emotional and clear for the tiniest details. I saw the film on the saint Louis but I had no idea there were any survivors left from this ghostly voyage. How interesting listening to you, learning the point of view of a child, a super intelligent child, but still a child. Your love and care for your parents was transparent and the traumatic moments of anxiety. Thank you so very much, God bless you and your family

Thank you, Dr Messinger. I am also very disappointed & embarrassed that the US turned away Jewish refuges in their legitimate time of need. Dr Messinger is an obviously hard-working, resilient, intelligent man who overcame hate & evil to become a highly productive, giving professional.
    (Such a great interviewer!)

I understand but do remember the time period: even groups such as Italians, Eastern Europeans/slavs, Greeks and the Irish were unwanted and reviled by large segments of the population and the KKK. Also, there was fear of competition for jobs, and admitting a large population of migrants during wartime.

I read this was a propaganda exercise planned by the Nazis with the cooperation of the Cuban Government.
It was to show that the world didn’t care about the St Louis Jewish refugees, who were fleeing persecution in Germany by turning them away in a time of need.

No, the third level embassy employee was killed in Paris.
He doesn't have this right when he said someone was just wounded!
It is an important fact that caused Kristallnacht!
