I bet this was a bit of a surprise! They’re amazing and Brittney absolutely Slays 😂 She’s the wife of the Drummer, and is indeed classically trained; I’ll put a link to her Classical performance later; for the next one to look at from the band, Tonight we ride is amazing, it has a Mad Max vibe about it and you’ll get more of Brittney doing very high belts! I love watching people find UTA... this song is absolutely stunning, and the musicianship of everyone in UTA is absolutely jaw dropping

Brittney does indeed Slay. The other guys ain't too bad either. This song has a long intro because it's the first one on the album. It's a story from start to finish. (As a lot of power metal bands do.)

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
    AWAKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
    Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never
Lighting my way in the night
    To roam; to never die

    @MaddyReactions: To answer some questions:
    1) Brittney Slayes originally started out singing in a Gospel choir. Later, she did get vocal training in university. She is very vocally talented, and to give you an idea of how good she is, she has sung karaoke (Queen of the Reich by Queensryche), which led to Arjan Lucassen giving her the lead vocals on his Star-One prog album with the song Fate of Man (about the Terminator universe). She has also sung opera, singing Brindisi with the male lead singer for Lords of the Trident over an internet call. She has at least a three-octave range, and can hit an A5 (Tonight We Ride). She also has the longest vocal stamina of any singer I'm aware of in the world, having held not one, but two, musical phrases back-to-back on Frozen Steel (1st was 30 seconds, the second was 28 seconds, and each was on one breath with varying vocal notes and frequencies).
    2) Next, the songwriting: Brittney is the main story or idea writer. Musically, Andrew, the lead guitarist, is who will come up with riffs and whatnot, which will then lead into a bigger band collaboration. Brittney is also a huge fantasy and sci-fi nerd, as well as a D&D player. This influenced both the Apex and Abyss albums, as they are two albums that when listened back to back, beginning to end, tell an entire story. Awakening is the first "chapter" of that story. And, Brittney has also cosplayed as the planeswalker Nissa Revane from Magic: the Gathering, a trading card game, for the band The Gatewatch.
    3) Next, the band itself. Unleash the Archers is a well-known Canadian power metal and speed metal band, with also having some melodic death metal flavor. They have appeared on the CBC, playing an acoustic version of the song Apex. In 2021, after releasing Abyss in 2020, they won the Juno Award, which is basically a Canadian Grammy Award, for Metal Album of the Year for Abyss.
    4) Lastly, Unleash the Archers had an anamoly, you could say, within the band. Some said the band was cursed. Why was this? Because for whatever reason, for the longest time, Unleash the Archers could not keep a bassist. But lo and behold, last year, Nick Miller joined the band full time as their hopefully last bassist.
    5) As for songs, I'm partial to a few that don't get enough love:
    1) Northwest Passage. This song is what many Canadians call their "second national anthem," written originally by songwriter and artist Stan Rogers.
    2) Time Stands Still. This is a song that has a note from Brittney so high it sounds like a guitar.
    3) Test Your Metal. This song has a power metal and punk rock feel to it. I hear this song, you could drop Unleash the Archers into 1985, and they wouldn't just compete, they would dominate.
    4) Abyss. This title track is one of my favorite songs by Unleash the Archers, and what I love isn't just the song, but how epic it is when the band gets pulled through a wormhole, only to have to fight the now-ascended Matriarch in space!
    5) The Wind That Shapes The Land. Currently, this is Unleash the Archers' magnum opus. It is one of the most epic songs I have ever heard, especially from a music plus a story-driven lyrical perspective. Basically, take the final battle between Neo and Smith from the Matrix, and put it into a fantasy setting like Critical Role (a live-play D&D stream), and you get The Wind That Shapes The Land. It is so epic, so good, and Brittney's voice has only gotten better as time has gone on.
And that's it! Hope you enjoyed it (you looked like you did), and I hope you dive more into the UtA rabbit hole! It is well worth the ride!

She's also a complete nerd in the best possible way. So down to earth and just loving what she does.
She used to stream on twitch, just gaming or singing random songs.

UtA writes concept albums so all songs start as a chapter in a story written by Brittney, who then gives the layout of the album and what each song should feel like and mean to the rest of the band. They usually adopt a few songs they feels they can works with and become the 'main writer' for that song. Then they bring their work to the group, they decide if it is on the mark or actually works better somewhere else etc and refine from there. That's my understanding. Don't know who took the lead on this one.

When someone reacts to my favorite band I /have/ to stop by, say "Immortal is more than a name!" and drop a sub.
Welcome to the UtA rabbit hole. Every member is a phenomenal musician, and the storytelling is superb.
Thanks for checking them out 🙂

Wonderful power metal band out of Vancouver, CA. Their last 2 albums told a story about the Immortal, and his enemy the Matriarch. They should have a new album out sometime soon, but I haven't heard any updates in a few months.

You must take training sessions between recordings and editing. I can't see how could you stay always fresh otherwise. I suspect a pool nearby.
Btw, did you consider to slow down a bit. Nobody can follow with this pace.

@@MaddyReactions I refuse to think you were a CGI. There would be no point in it. Also, your thoughts had to be generated by top AI, which has no need for advertisement. What else? You could be a "good girl" among the occupying forces, abandoning them. I say that stupid thing, for I actually met one before. Just to make myself more credible :), I met demons and werewolves as well. The later are cool, if you don't panic :) ..... So, how do you keep yourself always fresh. Are you in the control of endorphines and dopamines. If so, enlightement is around the corner. For that what it is. Controlling self produced drugs.
