The glow in the dark taco looks better than any I’ve seen before, so disappointed I missed out on it. Can’t wait for it to come back

Loved seeing these in the sun! Studio lighting is just NOT how you see the polish 99% of the time in real life.
I totally agree! I don’t always swatch in the sun, but 99% of the promotional photos I saw were under studio lighting, so I needed to fill that gap 😝
It was really interesting to see the glow in the dark toppers compared. Can’t wait for my polishes to arrive!
I didn’t think they would be THAT different! It makes me wonder what kind of formula the Orly Glow in the Dark topper has 🤔 But yay, hopefully you get them soon!! 😁
I wish they’d change all their brushes to the wide brush! Awesome review!!! I love that you went over dupes also! I only got Cristine’s bday polish from the collection. While I was at it I also snagged a bottle of Lost in the Woods since it’s my favorite from the dark rainbow collection. I’ve very excited to get both. I loved the bday polish from last year so much! ❤
thank you for watching!! :) I know, I wish they’d switch brushes too!! I’m not sure why she only swapped them for the cremes when I think all other formulas could benefit from the wide brush haha. I’m really sad I missed on her bday polish last year!! I think the bday polishes are definitely a must grab lol Lost in the Woods looks so beautiful too!! I hope you don’t have to wait too long for them to arrive 😁
The wide brushes are sometimes too wide for my pinkie nail and polish gets on my skin. pedicures are also difficult with wider brushes, at least for my 8 small toes.

For those who hate the skinny brush: Glisten and Glow has wide-flat brushes that are compatible with Holo Taco polish caps 😊 they're also only $0.25

Great video!! 🥰 Loved all the info you gave on the glow in the dark toppers. Seeing Double Dare in each type of lighting is really helpful too! I love Oh My Gourd more than I usually like oranges, it's just so bright and fun! 🎃🧡

I felt a little bad only doing it for that polish.. but it was the most transformative I think 🤣 and YES I get what you mean! At first I was like, okay yeah a pumpkin halloween orange, sure lol but then I was like wait this is actually really nice!! 🎃
I also have found other bright oranges having a streaky formula. But that Favourite Sister polish is absolutely stunning.

I like watching these. I got the missing frosted metals from my collection, favorite sister, and double dare. :) I don't like skinny brushes either. I wish they included the chonky brush as an add on for much cheaper.

Oh man, this was so enlightening (Pun def intended)! I ordered the CC Phantom Glow, and was unsure if I "needed" the HT Glow in The Dark, but now I feel like they both have their benefits in my collection. Will definetely pick up the HT topper when it restocks, including some of those lovely wide brush bottle caps they have 😆

I have Orly's glow in the dark topper so I skipped getting the new HT one. Now I want to see a comparison because it looks like the HT has a really strong glow!
ooh I was also wondering how Orly compared to these two! It sounds like it’s at least similar to HT being milky/non-grainy? 🤔
this review was iconic. I was hoping to see if the cremes glowed up as their respective colors with the glowy taco at all? I’m assuming not really as cristine has only showed it over white.
omg thank you Kristina! sadly no, the GITD greenish shade is the only color you would see in the dark, even if layered over orange or purple which is why I only showed it at the end. I think the GITD taco itself would have to be made in different colors, which I would LOVE to see next year!!

Does glow in the dark polish have shelf life? Does it lose its affect like thermal polish?
I believe Glow in the Dark polishes won’t lose their effect like thermals do! The strength of the glow depends on how long they’ve been exposed to light (think of the light charging up the polish) 😊
Ty for comparing the toppers! I wonder how the orange nd purple would look after the glossy top coat? Curious if that helps bring back the color!
of course! I almost wish I had the Orly one (definitely don’t NEED 3 glow in the dark toppers lol) just to see how that formula compares too, I’ve heard some friends recommending it. and hmm, I wouldn’t think adding topcoat would bring back the color.. I might test it soon!
I really don’t like her skinny brushes. I have the hardest time with application :/
Ok I’m glad it’s not just me! I don’t even know the last time I used a skinny brush, but this was kind of tough lol 😅
I know holo taco does sell a 6 pack of wide brushes sold separately for $10. It is annoying but I think it’s worth it to get wide brushes if there’s a polish with a skinny brush that you’d be using a lot
yeah for sure! I’m wondering why they just haven’t switched permanently since it’s not just a creme formula that would benefit from using a wide brush. Also, do you know if the HT brushes are custom? $10 for 6 is actually kind of pricey when comparing to other brands that sell replacement wide brushes for 33¢ a piece, but it would make sense if the brushes are custom and not just the standard brush size. 😅

Ha, sorry, there was a glitch in my video.
I won't buy from brands whose selling method is limited edition releases. It's too disappointing to want a specific shade, only to find that I didn't order fast enough. I am thoughtful in my nail polish purchases, especially since I have a large collection and want to be mindful of duplicates or similars; so I never buy in a hurry just to make a deadline. But I enjoyed this review and thought that Double Dare was a unique shade. (Skinny brush, though, ugh!!)
I hear you! I do feel the same for the most part where I’m not a fan of LE releases, though I do understand making a birthday polish LE (I think that and a collab earlier this year were the only LE things HT has done).
I think it’s interesting though how HT does these releases that are ‘limited’ to the season; it seeeems to make sense from a business perspective, but I’m really not sure how quickly they would make a restock happen.. GITD is still sold out but expected to restock for example and idk who else is really planning to use it after Halloween 😅

I rrrreally dislike the way glow in the dark taco changes the color of the cremes. So it would be the same for all the colors you’d place it over. Maybe not so much lighter shades but still kind of annoying.
Also rrrreally annoying the specialty ones are wide brushes. 🥲🫠
I knowww! that definitely is my only gripe with it (ok, and the brush 😝) because other than that it really is so much better than I thought it’d be! I imagine they can’t really get around that though.
