    A friend of mine used more or less the same method with birch boards to make about 10 stacked bent frames, then planed and glued to make a beautiful reclining chair. Worked fine

    Why didn't you run it through joiner and planer before it went in the water? Kind of a danger doing so after its bent. The ones that fail should have a slight curve to them use the to put clamps on the curves. That small space that was noticed probably will go away. Thanks for the strap idea you had a few good tips in this video

    Good job, but seeing someone stand in the path of the parts under tension is terrifying.

      Glad someone mentioned the Danger Zone. I felt like I was watching a horror movie where the character was about to get whacked. Other than that great video!

    so you made a giant crossbow that have bolts sticking out on the ends.. that can do serious damage even when dealing with wet wood.

    Bruh! best idea I've got from the boat builders is to steam it in place with a plastic bag... and oversteam it before, bend it to form, then steam it more, then stop the steaming. remove the clamps, remove the plastic bag.

    What is the metal you are using as an outside strap? Where did you source it? Thank you.

    They need to be way faster coming out of the steamer.

    Dumbest thing I’ve heard in awhile, ‘we’re novices actually’.

    • @kenc2257
      @kenc2257 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why? They are new to wood bending--they're developing new techniques, and learning new skills. Nothing "dumb" about that.

    • @seanhenry744
      @seanhenry744 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I meant dumb because they’re clearly much more advanced than a novice. No harm intended.
