How would you clean feces in the tunnels and is there an issue with bacteria grow because it’s a solid surface. I imagine you could use cleaners like springtails or pull bugs to help but idk if this would work with them
There is an insane risk with impaction due to small parts crumbling off and it hardens a lot more than sand and is more likely to cause impaction because of how hard it becomes
i could only find 4,5kg bags in my local stores. I used about 5 of them in a 100x50 to make a hill like backdrop on about 1/3 of the surface (sloped going up about 30cms). Looking back at it if you have many solid fills try to compensate using stones or other fillers. that wud have saved me a bag or 2. I also used a bit to mix in with riverbed sand/humos/coco to create a toplayer where my toads can burrow in. best tip to buy about 20-40% more from what you would estimate, when you mould it becomes more compact i had to go back to the store*
I plan on making a clay background for my crestie. However, you have to mix it with soil, otherwise it will just turn to mud in such a high humidity environment. I don't know whether excavator clay is the best product for that.
Just saying for people who want sand in their lizards tank use very fine sand, Do when they eat some sand along with their food its easier for them to digest, the sand they used was very fine so it was ok, Really guys, you think they would use non-reptile save sand?
Furry fishbowl TVTM Good thought, but that's not how impaction works it doesent matter how big the grains of sand are it is about the digestive track of the animal.
I use calcium sand so it not only helps with digestion but it’s also very fine, my leopard gecko has handled it very well and hasn’t had any issues yet and I’m hoping he won’t but he is pooping every 2 days after eating so so far so good. Hoping to try out this molding stuff soon!
Can this stick to a foam background?
so why not use a under tank heater and how well dies this conduct radiated heat
I’m going to get this for my bearded dragon he is going to love this

Clean up crew
No Springtails and pill bugs will not work in this setup. Springtails need high humidity as do most isopods. They won't do well at all on sand
You could put dry mixed substrate in them and use arid clean up crews. The Bio Dude has some
What lizard is the one featured near the beginning if the vid ? I’ve never seen one before. Unless it’s a Uromastyx
Is this good for salacata tortoises ? The clay & the dessert sand ?
i loved the one with the little gems on it
I wish it was able to be wet after hardening it would make this product literally everything I need
Justin Townsend you can
You can wet it, just not a lot
What lizard is that 0:54 ?
is there inpaction danger
Selene and Apollo with sand, yes
Selene and Apollo overall yes because loose bits fall off often
There is an insane risk with impaction due to small parts crumbling off and it hardens a lot more than sand and is more likely to cause impaction because of how hard it becomes
Honestly not really, just clean the little bits that fall off.
No, it becomes a solid clay like rock once dried
why does the dried version look like wet sand?
So you can mold it.
I have a bearded dragon and am wondering if this will work in a wooden vivarium with a heat mat
Don’t use this stuff it’s a really high risk of impaction
How do you clean this stuff?
honestly dont even know
GinEric84 you can't. It even says on the bag you "must replace" .
You could consider adding microfauna like springtails that clean it up for you. ^^ Other than that, you'll have to replace it, I assume.
will it turn ack into its normal for if it gets wet?
Did you watch the video? Your answer is in the video .
What size is the tank you used in the demonstration? I'm thinking about doing something similar for my bearded dragon's tank.
how much excavator should i buy roughly? i am about to buy a 100centimeter/40centimeter?

how often do you have to replace it if you spot clean regularly? and do you have to replace all of it or what?
Could I use this for a crested gecko?

Half of yall have no idea what yall are talking about. If done properly you can use all natural supplies
Barry Romano THANKYOU
What size tank is this
Keiss Allison I think is a 20, because I bought the same kit, and my tank was a 18 gallon, and it feeled it up
Is this okay for a bearded dragon ?
Max Roberts hell no
Why not?
Max Roberts impaction
Max Roberts holds humidy, and is no where near their natural habitat
I didn't think impaction would be an issue because they claim it dries solid, but I've never tried it myself so I couldn't say.
Don't let your gecko eat that shit . Also it can't be cleaned . You have to replace it or worry about mold etc.
Can I use it in a wooden viv?
if i have a 40 gallon tank how much should i use
Tahmir Emmens depends how much you want sculpted
Does anyone know what kind of lizard that was when she said small desert animal it's beautiful but idk what it is
I think it's a Haitian curly tail lizard
Gentle Giant its a bearded Dragon
Tristan Stephen no it isn't that one it was the curly tail lizard one someone told me
dont use sand
KALEB SUMMERS not sand deserts . Leopard geckos come from Pakistan ( and nearby countrys) where the land is almost all clay. Just like excavator !😁
@KALEB SUMMERS im with you, im all about bio
All myths about sand being bad for your lizard are just that, myths
@@yadadsellsavon1703 its bad for some reptiles like Leopard geckos
Do not use sand. Anyone that says it's a myth is a douche with no actual experience caring for them.
Thanks
uh oh i see sand- prepare for the substrate wat
war*

What sand would you recommend?
It's a desert jeweled lizard
You don't use sand you will kill it
False
Niggah in Australia they live on sandy hard sand

Idiot
Tour not gonna kill it but it would be more healthy to use something like eco earth
