Absolute genius!!! Resourceful and creative is the way I'd describe how you make useful stuff from whatever you have on hand. Inspires me to go build something.
Now I'm convinced there's nothing you can't build John. What a great invention. Just wish the angle grinders lasted a bit longer these days. Gone through 2 building my valiant wagon ,1 Makita, 1 Bosch. Got a Dewalt and so far even the wife's old chev hasn't killed yet. Trouble is drill bits and spotweld cutters melt trying to drill that metal. Very hard metal in the old cars. Great work John , have a good weekend mate.
Thnks Peter Goodwin. I have a heap of grinders every now and then one dies. I have a habit of looking at things and thinking, what could I make out of that. John
I was surprised how quick and dust free it was. I kept thinking at first that it wasn't doing much because it would only make a noise like something was happening for a couple of seconds. It was working just efficiently. John
I did wonder about that. It is a good idea but I think the pipe being longer stops the material from coming back up that way. It was a piece of pipe that was left over I didn't cut it I just used it as it was. John
Such a simple idea, I Saw this vid ahead ago, now time to have a go at making one. What improvements did you make to the grinder unit ? I was thinking of using a old fire extinguisher and have the body 450-500mm long to fill up with char, may save filling it so often ? Interested to hear your thoughts. Love your vids 👍🏻
ive been brainstorming similar tools for crushing charcoal, i think this makes a lot of sense, id prob but an auger in the shoot connected to an even bigger hopper and have it powered by an electric drill, that way you can just load the hopper, turn on the crushing blade, then turn the augur to feed into the blade. how does it work with wet charcoal?
Wet charcoal with water running out of it I find no good in any machine. but charcoal that has been wet and left to drain overnight works good still no dust and a rotating machine can digest it. Once you know what to look for its easy. I have had similar ideas about a auger feed, it would be good because you can seal the top where the char goes in and put a skirt on the outlet and have it very clean. John
No its not better or as industrial size. I have a ton of corn to grind and for a while I was wondering about something quicker and cheaper for the home user. John
hey mate South Burnett area here. Mate I need your help, are you able to make me one? I need something for biochar I would like to do fines and mediuim-course.
To make the char courser all you have to do is make the screen larger. I am not into manufacturing really. My Email address is farminglifeaustralia029@gmail.com
Just what I need to make for grinding my grains for home distilling my bourbon. Great job John
Thanks and thanks for watching. John
Well done, Teacher!
Thanks very much. John

Have a go its something to do while its raining. HaHa. John
Awesome as mate
Thanks for the visit I am happy with it I have a ton of corn to grind up. John

Well done John, another great video and another project to put on my list.

What an awesome idea John - Aussie ingenuity at its best - great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍 John
I love enganout.
Thanks for watching
Thought I smelled roast beef when you had your hand in those sparks welding bare handed😂😅😮
No pork. Ha Ha John
Hi 🙂 maybe cut feeder pipe and add the rest of the airtank to hold what ever your putting into it.
I did wonder about that. It is a good idea but I think the pipe being longer stops the material from coming back up that way. It was a piece of pipe that was left over I didn't cut it I just used it as it was. John
very creative!
Thank you! 😊John
Great idea John. I'm still grinding charcoal by hand and let's just say the wife is not terribly impressed with my black dusty clothes.
Its not the cleanest stuff to play with. John
G’day John, another great video, mate 👍🏼…. You are a cluey Bugger lol . I love your work …
Thanks Wayne Berry. John
Well done, John. A little too fine for what I'm aiming for, but it's fast. Nice build too! Tim
Thanks 👍Yes it is a bit fine but easily fixed just make the screen bigger. The big thing is no dust. John
Keep doing stuff like this,, love it,
Greetings from Philippines
Thanks! Will do! John
You are a man of many talents great video 😊😊
Thank you so much 😀And thanks for watching. John

I have not changed any thing on it. We mostly use it for grain corn. John

Give this man a bit of scrap and a grinder and anything is possible.
Is this better than your gas driven crusher?
No its not better or as industrial size. I have a ton of corn to grind and for a while I was wondering about something quicker and cheaper for the home user. John
My question is! Is the grinder strong enough to run for a long period without over hearing or I'd rather just buy a motor instead of the grinder
No if you want to do large amounts or continuous running I would go with a different design. John
