Mike... i awoke from a nap today with this Strong unction... to apologize to you for something that you may/may not even be aware of because you are very busy,..... but i must publicly do this because of a remark that i made on a live stream in December... the Lord has convicted me and corrected me... please forgive me for attempting to pick at splinters while harbouring a plank.... i understand now that decking hewn trees actually does refer to literal idols.... Jesus loves us so much to forgive us everyday.... and you are my brother who i am apologizing to for being a stumbling block in this ministry in the LORDS hand. God bless you🙏

Jesus is so beautifully poetic while being absolutely clear in linking his words with well, his Word throughout OT Scripture. I love it! Thanks for sharing your studies.
That made me think about this; he was also so clear in his individual statements like this one at John 8:58: "'I tell you the truth,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!'"
He had such awareness of his preeminence and relationship with the world. He doesn't skip a beat pointing out that to him (Jesus), Abraham is a baby that he watched grow up.
It's almost like there's an enormous restraint and patience in this statement as Jesus breaks it down. It's like he's saying in the most kindest, loving way, that he knows Abraham like you don't even know he knows him. Like you can't even handle it, but he handles everything including his promise to our forefathers and truth itself. I think he broke it down a lot of times. Thank God for his patience.

I like the way you put that. I never thought of that passage that way. I agree with what you said, but just never thought about Him suggesting such a thing regarding Abraham, but it really makes sense. God bless!

What’s interesting to me was the passing acknowledgement that deep in our hearts is the desire to ignore, bury, or explain away passages that we don’t like, particularly ones that separate the “persons” of Father God and Son of God. “Don’t bring that up!”. I truly believe we need to read the Bible and accept it’s teachings, and not concern ourselves with trying to make the Bible fit into our pre-existing belief system.

  • @nikostheater

Jesus had identified himself so strongly with the Son of Man term that used it even in front of the Sanhedrin, addressing the High Priest directly. The Sanhedrin was of course aware of the Son of Man as a messianic figure but there, Jesus not only applied the term for himself, informing them the he is that messianic figure of Daniel’s vision but he goes way further than that. He uses divine imagery about himself (coming on the clouds, sitting at the right hand of the Power) and that was revelatory to them and of course blasphemous: being a messianic figure wasn’t a crime or a blasphemy. Claiming to be divine, was. And the Son of Man, the way Jesus used it for himself but also the way he understood the term and what it meant, informs us a lot about who and more importantly what Jesus thought he was.

Pastor Mike, I have a question about what you mention around the 27 minute mark concerning the Lord's answer in Matthew 26:64, "You have said so." You say, that Greek means, "That's right, but you don't really fully understand what you are saying." Is there a source you can share with me explaining that more? Most of the commentaries I've checked on this have basically said that this phrase means "Yes". I appreciate your help on this. The Lord bless you.

    Daniel 7 (Son Of Man)
    Author: William Marchbanks
Hey, guys, I learned why Jesus refers to himself as the son of man and so I’m passing it on because it’s pretty cool. Before I explain you must realize that the Jews never knew God as a three-person entity. God was formless and one. With that in mind think about this, Daniel has a vision (in Daniel 7) this vision is God The Ancient Of Days and one like the son of man is brought before God and all nations, kings, and peoples worshiped him in front of the Ancient Of Days. He was given by God glory and sovereign power and his kingdom would last forever. This disturbed and confused Daniel greatly. Here was a man receiving worship in front of The Ancient Of Days and God was okay with it. Daniel did not understand. Daniel knew the law taught that God alone was to be worshiped and that God is a jealous God. So Daniel asked the angel to explain it to him.
Da 7:13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. Da 7:14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Da 7:15 “I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me. Da 7:16 I approached one of those standing there and asked him the true meaning of all this. “So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things: Da 7:17 ‘The four great beasts are four kingdoms that will rise from the earth. Da 7:18 But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever yes, for ever and ever
Also, notice Daniel said one like the Son of man. In other words like a man but not quite a man. So in Mathew 16:13-20 when Jesus asked his disciples “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” he is referring to Daniel chapter 7.
    Matthew 16:13-20 NIV
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” [14] They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” [15] “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” [16] Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” [17] Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. [18] And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. [19] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” [20] Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
All the Jews from boyhood had learned about the son of man and pondered on it. It was a biblical mystery to them. Now here comes Jesus and he asks his disciples about this mystery “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” The disciples put forth all the current theories of their day John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
Then Jesus asked two important questions revealing the answer to the mystery of the Son of man. He asked “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” and that’s when it happened . . . the pieces of the ancient puzzle fell into place for none other than Peter. Peter realized that the son of man being worship in Daniel’s vision was God himself in flesh (the Son of God) and that’s why the son of man was given glory, worship, and sovereign power. When Peter revealed this to them Jesus praised Peter and told him that this was not revealed to him by his own mental figuring but by the spirit of God and warned all the disciples to keep this revelation to themselves for the moment because it wasn’t yet time for it to be revealed to the word. Pretty cool huh?

Hey Mike. Can you tell us more about this tolof worm or scarlet worm at some point? I could only get so far studying it. It appears to be some sort of tree lice (yet still referred to as a worm even today) that is used (even to this day) as Jews are using its dye to make the garments for the high priest as they rebuild the temple. It does have some Christ like characteristics (willingly dying on a tree to produce a family, secreting a red dye) but it seems like all the videos on it are by us Christians and the story seems to have grown a bit past what might be true. Many of the videos are using pictures from many different kinds of insects. I think the actual insect is Kermes ilicis, tola'at shani or Coccus ilicis. It appears that the expert on this is Zohar Amar, a Jewish professor who led harvests of this very bug. That's about as far as I can get.

I came out of the Mormon church. I have brothers and sisters that were raised in the church also. I am the only one that goes to a church now. I am going to a Baptist church, and I got saved. I try my best to explain the trinity to my family, but I wasn't understanding it myself. I was thinking that since a human has a soul, their mind and Intelligence. And a body, and a spirit, that God was a soul, Jesus was the physical part of God, and the Holy spirit was the spirit part of God. Then, I was told that was all wrong. I am having a hard time trying to understand the trinity so I can explain it to my brothers and sisters.

      The Father is God.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Believing Christ is God isn't believing he is the Son of God. It denies both God and his Son.

Jesus said: Luke 23: 46 "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit"
Question: What "spirit" Jesus Christ commend to the hands of the Father??
What means Mark 12: 29 "The Lord our God is one Lord" ?
What means 1Corinthians 8: 6 " one God, the Father, ..... and one Lord Jesus Christ ....."
What means Mathew 22: 44 The Lord said unto my Lord,
So, who is the Lord ? How Lords exist ?
    1 John 5:7 >
The Father has Himself : John 5:26, John 17:5,
Jesus has Himself : Hebrew 5:5 John 5:26, John 10:18, John 14:21, and
the Holy Spirit has Himself : John 16:13
These Three persons are ONE IN UNITY , "One God" means One in Unity and not an absolute monad, John 17:21

Wish I had watched this sooner! The distinction between maggot and worm isn’t in their appearance but their positive/negative relationships they use to engage other living things. Through that you can see there is a clear distinction between spiritual descendants of Adam like Seth (sons of Man) and other men. Spiritual descendants were prophets and miracle workers. The Son of Man sounds like a concentration of power that only happens at certain times in history.

Seeing that Jesus was not a goat but the ram (the adult lamb) that would be the sacrifice to take away the sins of the world?

And why is that part wrote in Aramaic? Because the Book of Enoch, the scroll preserved of the full book found in Qumran cave 11 among the Dead Sea Scrolls is also wrote in Aramaic and alludes to the Son of Man. It’s linguistic typology. To show trust and connection of Enoch.

“And there I saw One who had a head of days, And His head was white like wool, And with Him was another being whose countenance had the appearance of a man, And his face was full of graciousness, like one of the holy angels.
    (The Book of Enoch 48:2), (Daniel 7:9), (Daniel 7:13), (Daniel 7:22), (Daniel 10:5-6, 16-19), (Revelation 1:13-16), (Revelation 2:18), (Revelation 19:12-13)
And I asked the angel who went with me and showed me all the hidden things, concerning that Son of Man, who he was, and whence he was, (and) why he went with the Head of Days
And he answered and said unto me: This is the son of Man who hath righteousness, With whom dwelleth righteousness, And who revealeth all the treasures of that which is hidden, Because the Lord of Spirits hath chosen him, And whose lot hath the pre-eminence before the Lord of Spirits in uprightness for ever.”
Book of Enoch is 300/400 BC +
Book of Daniel is 2nd century BC
(+ I can tell a lot of Christians of westernized society don’t seem to take Enoch seriously. But as followers of Christ and believers in Scripture your acceptance of the super natural must be a reality.
Super Natural is Natural to God.
You’ll believe floating hands scrawling inscriptions for Kings of the past, you will accept critical text that is deemed pseudepigrapha like Jude and Hebrews by some critics, but not Enoch which Paul And Jude allude too.

You spoke of Ezekiel laying on his left for the house of Israel, then laying on his right for the house of Judah.
The house of israel was exiled in 722ish b.c. They didn't come back 390 years later, I can't grasp my head around why that is.

Both the Son of God and the Son of Man in the Bible applies specifically to the incarnation, or the hypostasis of Christ/Hypostatic Union, where the Son of God refers to the divine nature of Christ, otherwise known as the Logos/Word of God, while the Son of Man refers to the human nature of Christ, otherwise known as Jesus, simple as that.

  • @budekins542

The problem with the theory that the "son of man" in Daniel 7:13-14 refers to a human being is that the peoples of planet earth serve ( some translations say "worship") this son of man "forever" ( literally onto the ages of the ages). It would be blasphemy to serve a mere human for an infinite amount of time! Case closed against the idea that the "son of man" figure in Dan 7:13-14 is a mere human. .

“Who do men say that I the Son of Man am?” Jesus asked his disciples. Peter’s correct answer was finally, “Thou art the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the Living God”. (Matthew 16:13-19) So Jesus is named as the Messiah, and as the Son of God, but take note that these are descriptive titles of “the Son of Man”. The title “Messiah” (Hebrew) or “Christ” (Greek) is speaking of His ministry as Prophet, Priest, and King. “Son of God” speaks of His divinity, and His relation to the Father. Other titles of Jesus describe His other characteristics; “Son of the Blessed” and “Emmanuel” expresses His divine nature; “Son of David” reveals His human nature and His lineage, and the name “Jesus” conveys simply that He is “the Savior” of humanity. None of these titles on their own can give a complete meaning of the person of our Lord because each name only signifies one of His characteristics. However, the title “Son of man” is a comprehensive name, a name that is able to describe all His characteristics and attributes. The Lord Jesus, the very God-man, determined that the title “Son of man” would be his chosen and foundational title that would encompass His person completely. If you were to read carefully through the four Gospels you would discover that Jesus chose for Himself His primary title, “Son of man”. In fact it is the only title that He applied to Himself, and He speaks of Himself as the “Son of man” 80+ times. Do a phrase search at Bible Gateway for “Son of man” if you are interested in marking these verses in your Bible. The title “Son of man” has its origin in the book of origins, Genesis. When God cursed the serpent for his deception of Adam and Eve he said, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed; he shall crush thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15). This curse upon the serpent, Satan, was a promise to Adam and Eve and to all their descendants as well, and became the hope of the human race that a redeemer and savior would be born of a woman that would abolish the authority that Satan had stolen from Adam and Eve. This “seed of the woman” would be the “Son of the woman”, who is the “Son of Man”. Since a woman does not produce seed, this promise means that in the future there would be a woman, a virgin, who would conceive a Son without the seed of a human male. This virgin born Son would be at enmity with the seed of the serpent, that is, the devil and all his devotees. And in the mystery of God’s plan of redemption, this seed, this Son of man, would crush the head of the serpent, loosing us from the devil’s authority (1 John 3:8), destroying the power of death (Hebrews 2:14, 15), and granting life and immortality to those who believe in Jesus (2 Timothy 1:8-10). The Prophet Daniel foretold of this “Son of man” coming with clouds of glory and establishing an everlasting kingdom (Daniel 7:13, 14). This prophecy is fulfilled in the person of Jesus as we read in Revelation 1:12-18. Jesus is more than just a man, He is “The Man”, “Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the Son of man…(Psalm 80:17). Eighty plus times Jesus declares unequivocally that He is the “Son of man”, making it abundantly clear to all who will listen that He is the promised redeemer and savior foretold in Genesis 3:15. Amen. ANCIENT FAITH BIBLE STUDY: Search results for son of man

    • @msvalade
      @msvalade 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Clayton Bigsby This is an interesting question but it seems to miss that YHWH called Himself “I AM” throughout the OT and many understand this as an abbreviation of the meaning of the word underlying the tetragrammaton: “I AM WHO I AM.” For example, here in Exodus, YHWH uses I AM as His proper name: Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.” This relationship was clearly understood by those who heard Jesus use this term of Himself in His day. Besides the verse already given (where Jesus replies that before Abraham was, I AM), His use of this name for Himself was the basis for his execution as reported in Mark: Again the high priest was questioning Him, and saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” And Jesus said, “I AM; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Tearing his clothes, the high priest said, “What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy; how does it seem to you?” And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. Okay, that verse is interesting for another reason too: Jesus uses the term “Son of Man” in His answer, which refers back to Messianic expectations in the OT (specifically Daniel chapter 7), which would require an entire Bible study, but there are strong reasons to believe the Messiah could be no one but God (for example, the prophesy in Isaiah 9:6, where the Messiah is given multiple Divine titles: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace).

[13]And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
[14]And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
[15]That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
