Hey guys, I am very happy I just passed the new generation Nclex with a great help from Dr Luther. My advice to everyone preparing for the new Generation Nclex is to contact Dr. Luther and pass your test very easily
Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
I agree with what you said that it's going to feel random and non-linear at first like, the learning feels like unstructured and that's what scares me. I am used to textbook approach. That is what's keeping me from signing up to UWorld or any other resources out there. But Im gonna take your word for it because you seem to be making sense here. Thank you for this! Also I was wondering if you have some tips on how to solve uworld efficiently? I get the answers wrong most of the time because of missing importance clues and not being able to apply concepts that I already learned .
Hey, you're welcome, I hope it helped! It sounds like you have a few issues going on here. - Missing important clues is part of practise, eventually you will learn the patterns just through repetition, so just do many more questions and that will work itself out. - The most important thing is highlighting, Anking taught me that as long as you highlight the right thing in the question stem, you will get the answer, and I think that worked really well for me. - Not being able to apply the concepts you have learned sounds like you might not have truly understood why you got questions wrong in the past. There are a few things that could be going wrong. Make sure you really review and understand exactly what went wrong. I have a video coming soon that you will find useful!
Review it right after finishing, then move on. You'll see the same concepts come up on uworld multiple times so no need to revisit. If you want to resit the questions you can reset the qbank and do everything again, or build a block with incorrects.

Hey I really found your video helpful, I want to ask if Uworld double pass and FA enough to pass step 1 ? Everyone is marketing kaplan classes and amboss to me. Also when and how to approach NBMEs
i just started studying for usmle and i just bought uworld as well and i did 2 qbanks on biochem. i do not know if its just me or if im finding something to place the blame on, but i really havent ran past most the info on these questions. ive done pathology q banks and it was way better. something's wrong with biochemistry its endless.
@@johntower-pu1kx turns out the test i created was biochem of the systems. while ive only just finished the basic biochem so when i did that test i got 90%. was a silly mistake
Great video Chris, Thank you! If we don't feel confident enough about any particular organ system, is it still advisable to do q-banks surrounding timed and random? Or stick to the specific organ system to nail it down?
It depends where you are in your journey. If youre finished studying basic sciences (year 2, 3) then do random timed. Don't wait to nail things down first, you want to get used to working timed and switching between different subjects 😊
Hey mate thanks for the video. I use other question banks more suited to my country and school. Just wondering if you take notes while attempting the q banks? I was taking notes but have realized it takes a lot of time...
Yeah in the beginning it sucks because there is a lot you don't know. Personally I use the anking flashcards deck and unsuspend cards based around the concepts I got incorrect in the questions. I dont like making notes, I prefer to try and wrap my head around the topic and test myself on it periodically with active recall. You can emulate this by creating an excel spreadsheet of the questions you got wrong and write one sentence for the correct answer.
@@ChrisQuelch I was using anki last year and realized I could only recall bits and pieces of information and the entire concept or pathology wasn't in order in my head.. How do I get around this? I get understanding concepts first and then doing anki but im not sure, I must be doing something wrong..
You are right, you definitely need to understand the underlying concepts before you use anki. This is why I do the question first, understand why I got it wrong, and then use flashcards to periodically review the concept. Watch this: bit.ly/3mBGRZA
Yeah that would be an indicator to me that you might not have grasped the overall picture. Watch a high yield video or read that section of the textbook.
hey i was not able to pass my exam in the first try but now i want to buy the subscription of uworld again will i get the same questions or the same study material which i got last time
I dont know if you'll see this but I'm studying for the MCAT and will be using UWorld. It takes me so long to finish one book. Like a month. I'm a non-trad. I'm about to finish my second review (Kaplan) book and I still have about 2-3 more to go through. I want to get the 3 month plan but is it worth it to even start reviewing questions for only two subjects so early? I know you talked about it in the video but I'm still a bit skeptical.
Hey man. This is a review of the USMLE Kaplan series, not the MCAT. I also wish I would have started questions earlier when I took the MCAT. As a non-trad you might need to cover everything thoroughly before moving to questions, it just might take you a little longer (might not be an issue for you!). Hope youre doing well, don't give up 🤞
I was also a non-trad international student BTW. It took me at least a month to get through a book thoroughly. Just try to do questions on the content you have reviewed as you go, whatever the source.
@@ChrisQuelch Thank you for the reply. That gives me hope. I spend all my days trying to understand the concepts. Probably more than others but it's good to know that others have been in the same boat. I will be taking your advice and work through it at my own pace and do what questions I can. Thanks a bunch!
Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
i have 6 months left. I will start first aid along with BNB now. should I do usmle rx with it or half of that section's blocks from uworld and the rest half when I complete everything?
6 months out I would start Uworld random timed to be honest. I do questions really slowly so I wouldn't be able to do both q-banks really thoroughly in that time. Use first aid alongside your questions.
Heyy , i hope you are well, honeslt this is the first time i felt like I can really relate to someones method with geniuine advice so thank you so much. Furthermore, I am quite unsire how i can study using spaced reptition in UWorld, any advice on that
Thanks for sharing!! The thing about question banks is they tend to focus on the high yield material. This means that you might see the same concept tackled from a different perspective in different questions. This gives some repetition, however you can also make anki flashcards on the concepts that you got wrong.
Would spiral learning be good for the MCAT? Looking to start my MCAT studying next month. I am a junior in undergraduate and have completed all of my prereqs. I have seen most people read through kaplan books then do U world after about a month of review. How do you think I should approach this?

I am 100% sure! Check out the latest video, the january dates have just been released 👍 Dont be discouraged. If it takes you half an hour to review a block thats fine, just do less questions (like a 10 q block) per day, eventually you will get there!

Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
How do you plan on getting Jan eligibility? It's only letting me select upto Dec slot. And why are you doing it before pass/fail (that could be a video on it's on I suppose)
Its a good question, to be honest I am not certain that there will be a date in january, but I am reasonably confident there will be. 1) Originally the date to switch to pass fail was Jan 1st, then they changed it to Jan 26th. Considering there usually are no tests until Jan 14th, I think there are some dates they are planning. 2) There is mention on the ecfmg website of a November 2021-January 2022 eligibility period.
I think that for IMGs, the numbered step 1 score used to be our easiest bet at getting a us residency. it is an easy number for a programme director to understand. i am aiming to be able to take it in January, but if I am not achieviing the scores I want, ill probably take pass/fail! Maybe I will make a video explaining my reasoning - if you think anyone would be interested 😀
@@ChrisQuelch yeah that could be a video. Also you should definitely take the exam before pass fail given you're already doing Uworld on random? Usually people do that once they have a base so if you can do that already you'll probably do great.
Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
Hey nice video. I'm currently using usmle Rx I haven't purchased uworld yet. I was planning on purchasing it in January/February and my exam is in august. Do you think I should purchase it sooner.
No thats plenty of time (IMO). Some people will tell you to do Uworld twice, and you'd need more time for that, but I don't personally think thats the way to go.
@@ChrisQuelch do you think if I prepare through questions being uworld and Rx only I can score high? Or is it a must that I should supplement with other stuff?
Its difficult to tell. You will hear different opinions regarding which tests are most like the real thing. I honestly feel that you have enough time to do enough tests that picking the 'right' one doesn't matter. I think you can score amazingly with just Rx and Uworld, but if you're aiming for 250+ I have heard a lot of people using the Amboss qbank because its much harder than the real test.
Hey 👋 the new NBMEs I haven't heard a consensus except that 27 is harder than the others. I did 27,28,29,30, UWSA1 and 2. I would take UW1 as your first, and UW2 as your last test the week before. Good luck 🤞
I agree. Tutor mode is meant to give you the opportunity to really think about the questions without worrying about how much time you’re taking. Being able to then instantly know what the correct and incorrect answers are and why is powerful. Even if you got the question wrong, reading the explanations could help you get future questions right, which should boost your confidence going forward. UWorld is not meant to simulate test day. NBME practice exams are built for that.
Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
I have 4 months for my step 1 exam, first I studied each system, and when I finished all the systems I started Uworld questions, Now I am practicing Uworld questions. I forgot molecular mechanism what should I do for this bro? I need your opinion in this regard please.
Hello I advise you to contact Dr Luther if you are preparing for your nclex be it RN or PN. He is the reason I and my husband are very happy today working as Rns
No, UWorld is NOT the most important USMLE Step 1 prep resource. NBME CBSSA and Forms 25 to 30 are most important. Most students hsve caved in to commercial advertising forgetting that USMLE is a product of NBME and not UWorld. Shouldnt resources from the makers of the exam come BEFORE commercial ones? What became of common sense?
Hey mate, I completely get the point youre making. You would think that the official resources are the most accurate, and that is certainly the case for the MCAT, but in my experience it is the opposite for the USMLE.
I also think that comparing a question bank (Uworld) to an assessment tool (NBME CBSSAs) is not useful because we use them for different purposes! I use question banks to learn and reinforce what I am learning, and assessment tools periodically to judge how I am able to apply that knowledge in an exam environment.
I have my step 1 next week.
I agree with all of your tips. Wish I’d have known them earlier.
Appreciate the feedback, you're going to do great on your test, good luck!

Its possible to share your password, but you won't see any of the questions that your friend does, so defies the point!
Haven’t watched but great title lol
So did you pass the usmle ??
Hi should I do random or system while studying uworld

Hey nice video. I'm currently using usmle Rx I haven't purchased uworld yet. I was planning on purchasing it in January/February and my exam is in august. Do you think I should purchase it sooner.
No thats plenty of time (IMO). Some people will tell you to do Uworld twice, and you'd need more time for that, but I don't personally think thats the way to go.
@@ChrisQuelch do you think if I prepare through questions being uworld and Rx only I can score high? Or is it a must that I should supplement with other stuff?
@@ChrisQuelch thanks for replying
and in addition to this would u say the nbmes or uwsa is closer the exams?
Its difficult to tell. You will hear different opinions regarding which tests are most like the real thing. I honestly feel that you have enough time to do enough tests that picking the 'right' one doesn't matter. I think you can score amazingly with just Rx and Uworld, but if you're aiming for 250+ I have heard a lot of people using the Amboss qbank because its much harder than the real test.
Hey can you please share which NBMEs are good? Which ones to focus on?
Hey 👋 the new NBMEs I haven't heard a consensus except that 27 is harder than the others. I did 27,28,29,30, UWSA1 and 2. I would take UW1 as your first, and UW2 as your last test the week before. Good luck 🤞
Chris you're wrong about tutor mode. If you are making videos for IMGSwho definitely have a knowledge gap, this is a dangerous video
I think it depends. When I use tutor mode and get questions wrong, it hurts my confidence for future questions. Other people do not.

Superb 👍 ur r next @doctormike
Thank you! I just started and have scored 65% and got discouraged 🫤 but this helps.
You got this!
Thank you
