    I’m a big fan of MAB…over the past year I’ve moved all my plants into it, and they’re loving it.
    You can literally use it like soil and just water normally if you don’t want to go semi hydro.
    One of the (many) great things about MAB is you don’t get fungus gnats any more.
    And it’s endlessly re-usable, so well worth the initial cost.
    Hope your plants do great in it too. Love your channel :)

      Hi Bronwyn. Just wondering if you transferred large plants, ie fiddle leaf fig, monstera, ferns into MAB Grow. Do you find it really heavy or do you just keep the heavy plants in one spot and water them like you would normal plants. Do you have to water every week in summer like you do with soil. Any other info would be great to hear

    • @bronwyncox2051
      @bronwyncox2051 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Margi, the largest one I’ve got is a 20cm pot - and yep it’s pretty heavy! But still do-able for me to carry it to the sink to water.
      And you’re right, for something super big you’d probably want to set things up so plants can stay in one spot.
      All of my plants (philos, hoyas, aglaeonemas, ficus, peperomia, dracenas, maranta, anthuriums, string of’s, orchids, epiprenmums etc) have all loved MAB. So it’d just be a matter of how much you can reasonably lift that might affect how big you go :)

    Hey Judi - wondering if you did an update yet? I'm about to move some of my plants to MAB but keen to see how yours went.

      Hi Donna! I haven't made an update video, but basically it didn't work for me. 😂 they dried up way too quickly and my plants ended up just shrivelling and dying. It can be a great substrate for people who tend to over water, or those who struggle with gnats in their soil, but it just didn't work for me because I kept forgetting to top up the water reserves. Would have had to do it at least once a week and my busy life just didn't allow for that. 🙈 Hope this helps!

      @@ThatFoliageLife Hey Judi, thanks so much for getting back to me - I have heard this from my friend who uses MAB also but has also moved some of her plants back for the reason you mention - I'm going to only use it for 2 of my plants - a ring of fire that came to me with gnats and the other a Thai pup that has been in MAB all of its life - I think I can keep the reserves up to those two!! Sorry to hear you lost those lovely cuttings - they were lovely!! Have a terrific weekend.

    Great job and those cuttings look amazing! Maybe try using some plant Velcro next time instead of the zip ties! Its super gentle on your plants aerial roots and its reusable! 😍

    Wow, all those plants look amazing. Im glad you are branching out to try new things with your plants. I have been wanting to try a new medium for some of my own plants, but to be honest i dont want to use lecca and was contemplating using pon, but i am very interested to see how your plants take to the mab. I have never heard of it before, and i wish you all the best with it. Looking forward to seeing an update on it and what your thoughts are about it too.
