Unfortunately, this process doesn't work for boxplots with outliers. Instead of the min and max, you need the inter-quartile range, and to plot outlier dots outside 1.5x the IQR on either side outside the nearest quartile. Even with modifications, a stacked bar chart can't be manipulated this way.
Very handy. But, why the hell does LibreOffice Calc not include box and whisker plots as standard? It is such a basic requirement, and one of many reasons why such open source software will never be a full replacement for MS Office.
