Thanks for the video , wish you had done some more for the other scenarios. I looked in youtube for the user name LBW and this seems only War at world scenario video .
I have a couple more videos of this and then will be done with this scenario, the goal is to move on and do Barbarossa after that, so I hope to do more. I just only get about 2 or so done a month, and Ive been doing a series on Warplan by Matrix and Slitherine on my channel right now, eventually I will finish this one up as well, thanks for the input, it is much appreciated. --Steve
Thanks, Im pretty new to this and just love war gaming so it will grow over time. Need to wrap up the N Africa video and then Ill be doing Barbarossa next. Thanks for the kind remarks.
Hey, pal. Nice job on your first video. I’m new to wargaming, and have been bouncing back and forth between the copies I bought recently of World in Flames (deluxe collector’s) and the newest World at War. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so stuff like this (for either game) are like lifesavers to me. Thanks, and cheers.
Thanks for the input, I have never played Wif, but have always been interested in it. i like the look of A World at War, seems a lot cleaner but that is just me. Thanks again for your comments!! --Steve
Oh, the map is certainly cleaner in WaW. There‘s definitely a difference in presentation between the games. WaW gives you a plain map and a dictionary’s worth of loose pages for a rule book. That and an accounting firm of bookkeeping. WiF offloads everything it can onto the map, with a slim (by comparison!) ~80p of color rules. I can’t say yet which works better for me. Without the prequel games for either (Gathering Storm and Days of Decision), which I haven’t played, Ido think they scratch at slightly different itches. The counters in WiF are thick and lovely. I’m a sucker for having every historically accurate ship or plane drawn in color on them. It helps the story in my head when it’s actually spitfires facing 109s, actually a Catalina that spotted the enemy ship etc. Its strong on the strategy of physical forces. WaW has thin, one-sided and plain counters, though they are quite clear. The research and diplomacy seem much more of an emphasis, too, which I am totally into. I’m too inexperienced to know which one I like better as of yet. If you can afford a Deluxe CE WiF, and it ain’t cheap, I recommend it. I couldn’t afford it but bought it anyway haha. Later.
Googling tells me Mateix published a pc version years ago, but I know nothing about it. The company who makes the game has a sort of demo vassal module, as well as a full one that you get when you buy the game. I think you can even just buy the vassal module.
yeah I have played 1 game of AWAW Europe to completion, one of the best times Ive had, I would love to get better at it and learn the Pacific which is harder for me to get the mechanics down well for. I also have 3R, used to be the hardest game to play, now....not so much.
As a fellow cat owner I would like to say that you can train cats not to go on the game table. Also using blu tack or a similar product can make your games cat resistant.
Funnily enough earlier this evening I heard a massive crash as my cat interrupted the battle of Osgilaith. She jumped into the river Anduin sinking the orc invasion fleet, wrecking the temporary bridge and drowning the orcs crossing it. Needless to say I was really annoyed.
Just curious why didn't you base the British aircraft in Tobruk? I would have thought they would have been safer there in case of a breakout by the Germans and they still would have been able to support the frontlines.
I can do that, I have some others in the que, question is what version? I have the original, and there have been a couple different versions of how to play out there now, Ill have to read up on it.
@@lbwstrategygaming Ok... ! ... that's really a daring choice from the graphics department :) PS: Checked... it seems like that choice originates all the way back with 3R

I would be too, man!
How do you get access to this app version of it?
it is a vassal module, you can find the vassal module here. www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:A_World_at_War

I like gaming, not necessarily the best strategist perhaps? :)
Well done. Any chances of doing Awakening The Bear?

one other issue, no vassal mod for that yet, so Ill new other equipment before I can do Awakening the Bear.
Totally ignorant WiF player here ... Is LL.20 a playable hex?!
I believe so.
