I don’t believe according to God’s word we can repent for someone else that’s an individual act but I do believe praying that others can see the need to surrender to the Lord is an act of love. The Lord’s Prayer says forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Show mercy because God shows mercy to us. Do unto others as we would have others do unto us. I believe forgiving others whether they care or not liberates us with God and frees us from harboring an unhealthy attitude. The same way we may need to apologize ourselves to others whether they think it’s a big deal or not. It clears the air between us and God. I’ve been on both ends of that by the way. I’m not commenting from a lofty position but as someone who’s needed forgiveness on a daily basis and as someone who’s needed to forgive and let something go.
@@forkshootertb96 I don't disagree Tell me your thoughts on John 2o:23
@@WesHenson Thanks Wes! Hope you are having a great day! John 20:23 is just after the resurrection Jesus said: Receive ye the Holy Ghost: whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain they are retained. He commissioned the apostles to preach the gospel to people and leave it up to them to believe and receive forgiveness or reject and retain their sins. They could declare based on someone's testimony whether they believed and were forgiven or chose not to believe and refuse redemption but the apostles didn't have the ability as men to forgive them. God still call's believers to share the gospel that people may believe and ask for forgiveness of sin unto the salvation of their soul. We can declare based on someone's profession whether they received salvation ( and I believe there's evidence of that in their lives) but ultimately the only two people who truly know is God and the individual. Thanks you so much for your Bible Studies for Life lesson's as well as Coffee with Wes. I am a small groups leader for the 65+ at the missionary Baptist church I attend and it's been a great help for me. I'm turning 63 soon and most people in the class are a bit my senior and are very knowledgeable. Thanks again Wes for a conversation on an interesting verse. Todd
