When I watch Allana's videos, I feel like I'm listening to the life of a friend; everything is most pleasant and real. I also want to thank the quality of video and edition, everything is spectacular! And I hope you feel good
This fit with the converse and the white jacket has got to be one of my favorite outfits of yours all time🤩 idk what it is but it’s so understated yet cool and chic but still comfy and I LOVE IT
I've just stopped taking the pill within the last year and real periods are a spicy demon that I had forgotten about! However, ibuprofen not only helps with period pain but it reduces the heaviness of Ms Flo, so if I'm travelling or shooting all day I take ibuprofen the night before and day of and it makes it all SO much more manageable. Your skin looks phenomenal, my skin has been an acne-riddled dumpster fire, but I'm getting all my hormones tested with my GP soon to dive deep and deal with things at the root. Apparently it takes 6 months for our hormones to regulate themselves after coming off birth control so listen to your body and be kind to yourself. Love from Australia. *angry woman shakes fist at 24 hour male hormone cycle*
i swear stopped taking the pill was one of the best decisions i've ever taken! the periods are reeeeeally worse for sure but you get to know your body so much better! it all feels more natural... my acne got way worse BUT everything else is absolutely better! i felt dizzy all the time with the pill, bloated and so much more! i feel like a NEW PERSON after stopping the pill! it takes time but its so worth it!
Thank you for talking about periods and hormonal health, it's so important to talk about it like the normal topic it is. About the flight, compression socks are so worth it, you will absolutely feel the difference in swelling and blood flow in your legs. When I'm going on a long haul flight I usually take a turmeric root and ginger pill to avoid bloating and aid good digestion, compression socks for legs and blood flow and if it's a night one also an ampoule for tired legs. Avoiding salt as much as possible also helps prevent swelling and discomfort.
Always love your vlogs ; so happy you were able to catch up with Jamie in your travel 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Love you both and all the content. Sending light and positivity all the way from Alaska 💕
Oh I have been through the saga of hormonal rebalancing and lived to tell the tale! One thing I would recommend is to track your period and when you feel symptoms (being an American I might recommend hand records rather than an app because #privacy) It took me a while after going off the pill but I realized that just before ovulating and just before my period, I experienced insomnia, food cravings, skin issues, all of the things. So I just tried to modify my routine accordingly and it helped a ton. Best of luck!! 😘
Wishing you safe and exciting travels!. I really strongly suggest getting some compression socks, esp if you are having hormonal issues. Not all compression socks are created equally, though, so you'll want to make sure that they're actually comfortable for wearing on long days/flights. I miss the Lancome Juicy Lip Shaker oils so much!. Lancome re-introduced the original Juicy Tubes, but those are definitely not the same thing!. Excited to know what the new Guerlain products for Fall are.
Definitely get compression socks!!! They make a massive difference. That, drinking water, and getting up & walking around every hour or so will do wonders!! Have fun!!!
Hey Allana! I had the same experience! On the pill since 13, then went off at 27. My body was a solid mess for about 3 months. Crazy, long periods, breast sensitivity, weight fluctuations. I found exercise and diet helped regulate and I just always kept a panty liner in my purse. Also - might be cheesy, but it helped - but take time to accept these changes. I found myself focusing in on all the negative, but it was truly nice not to have the hormones in my body for awhile. I did end up switching to the IUD Skylar - I’d highly recommend it as an IUD, however, the insertion is HORRIBLE. But after that day of discomfort, my periods have since stopped and I don’t have any cramping or any of the nausea that the pills gave me. Hope this helps!
Your mom literally looks like your sister in your Instagram pics!!! She is so beautiful! I love when you post with her. Happy birthday to your mother 🎂🥳
Hey! I just moved from the downtown of a big city to 45 minutes outside of the city where there is like nothing happening. So basically I have to learn to be more of a homebody and visit the city on the weekends. Im struggling and really miss being able to roll out of bed and go to a coffee shop. Can you make a video of what you fill your week with staying at home the whole time? How to not be bored? I would love to see what a general week at home looks like in your life and need some ideas so I dont get too stir crazy 😜
Ooof, I hear all your talk about going off the pill! I was on the pill for a decade before getting off it for a non-hormonal IUD and the adjustment was rough. A couple of years later things have calmed down a lot, but hormonal changes are no joke. Lots of love.
Bonjouuuuur Lan I think the reason why you blink while driving is because of the aircon... I have that too! maybe you should try to turn it off once to see if it gets better? or direct it towards somewhere else than your face hahah! always a pleasure to watch you!
I’m sorry that your periods are tough. I never was motivated for three days when it was that time of the month. I struggled. I found out I was anemic cause was always out of breath and I Had endometriosis. . Hope you feel better. 🤗
Saw you on Victoria's vlog, loved you two together enjoying their garden, two of my faves, smiled the whole way through. Excited to see Spain content, enjoy your hols! ❤☀️🥰
I got off the pill after listening to many podcasts about how harmful it is. It definitely took awhile to come off the effects of it, but I never felt better! Best decision I made 💕
I was REALLY sick when I first got off the pill- I’ve always struggled with balancing hormones so I shouldn’t have been surprised, but alas, I was lol. I tried to power through for about 2 months but I eventually had to go to the doctor when my mental health started to suffer and she put me on spirolactone to help with imbalances (and my acne). I eventually decided to get an IUD as it was the best fit for my active lifestyle but have continued with the spiro for a few years now and I love it! Not the best solution if you’re trying to get away from daily meds, but just sharing.
I quit the pill for almost 12 months and hated it. I've just accepted that I am the better me when on the pill lol. It's basically the perfect antidepressant/antiacne/antimenstruation/antibaby all in one for me haha
In September, I suffered a seizure due to a cluster of blood clots in my brain. Doctors are quite certain they were caused from my birth control pills-I was on for years!! Terrifying experience (thankfully, after months of appointments and medicine, clots are gone 🙌🏻) BUT since coming off the pill, I have been experiencing the same issues! I’ve had the worst acne I’ve ever had in my life and off days/weeks, just all around not fun 🙃 happy to hear it’s not just a me thing having issues after getting off the pill!! ❤️
Hi! I went off the pill in September of 2021, and I had been on it for 15 years. My body is just now starting to feel “normal”. It takes a while for the hormones to adjust but definitely worth it, everything will level out and be natural like it should be.
Yes, you should definitely invest in some good compression socks. I have been suffering from swollen feet since i was 14 and I wished I had those then. At least at one point I discovered them and cannot live without, especially for long traveling ☺ life saver!
I absolutely relate to the hormonal nausea! I always have chewy ginger candies on hand for when I'm out...Boiling bay leaves in water is also a nice tea to have for indigestion. Otherwise nausea has become an old friend...BUT the better I manage other things like stress, the better it seems to be
I was on different pills from high school till 31 and the first few months I came off it was aweful but after that I seemed to be ok. I hope your body can swing into a normal more comfortable gear soon!!
Lan, you should definitely get some good compression socks, it'll make you feel so much better when you get off the flight too. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes!
You will balance out give it time I went through it and I was glad I did because I never realized how much better I felt without the pill. 5 months for me to adjust
Completely relate to you experiencing bad period pain after coming off the pill! Also the mood swings, food cravings… it’s crazy. I use the app Flo which helps track everything and find it helpful. Getting used to my symptoms now and how to cope after almost a year being off the pill. Definitely prefer not being on the pill and understanding my body more. You’ll get there! Xxx
You might like the CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Cream for your face, its awesome at restoring skin barrier. I'm 54 with dry skin and its my new fav under makeup and at bedtime.
I get my legs swollen if I’m standing for too long. It can be really bad! I don’t even want to mention how bad they get after a long flight. I hope you’re having a wonderful time! Enjoy the weather and the food!
I’m pretty sure that facial damaged your skin barrier, hence the tightness and dryness. I struggled with a damaged barrier for years until I finally tried the Lord Jones Acid mantle repair cream, it’s helped soooo much! Not affiliated with them at all I swear, but I’ve been watching you for years and I feel so bad your skin is not feeling great so I had to share what’s worked for me, hope it helps if you try it ❤️ also laying in a hydrating essence and absolutely zero actives for a few weeks will help things rebuild.
Whoop whoop coming to Blighty my dear ,you must visit us in the north we have all the pretty castles up here have you ever visited Anwick castle it has the most beautiful gardens in England and it just happened to be where they filmed Harry Potter as hogwarts 😘
I wish we could see your skin real real😩 it always looks absolutely flawless on camera when you say it’s looking rough haha (I’m sure it looks great regardless but wish we could see what you’re talking about!) Also I can see your shoulder gainz gurllll looking good queen🔥💕
I’ve been blinking a lot too girl. Went to the eye doc yesterday and he mentioned dry eyes can cause excessive blinking and blurring. That’s been my issue lol
Hope you are having an amazing trip! Love your transparency on going off the pill as well. I see some comments saying to switch to an IUD but I would definitely not advise that. IUD's still have hormones in them unless you get the copper version, which is not recommended to women who haven't experienced child birth. I got my IUD out last October and I am STILL having hormone imbalance issues from it. Hair loss, acne, weight gain/loss, etc. I am just finally starting to notice these things subside but my doctor said it can take 6-9 months sometimes up to year for hormones to balance out. Anything with hormones is a big no in opinion. I hope you find yourself regulating soon!! Safe travels!
I just started and laughing! I’m exactly same way when I say I’m just doing a tinted moisturizer! Then I cover my face with concealer.. 🥰 You look beautiful ALWAYS!
Ello I once had a similar bald patch on my cheek and it ended up just being some sort of fungal dermatitis, if you try a ketoconazole type cream on it for a few weeks it should go 🤞
Just wondering if you've ever thought about trying a clear mascara!! I used to rub my eyes a lot when working at the computer so I'd sometimes just give my lashes a good curl and some clear mascara for a little extra hold/shiny-ness!
I had an IUD for three years. It took me around a year to not feel the “hormonal” changes. Bff had a low dosage bc pill and it still took her around the same 😬😬😬😬 Hopefully you’ll feel better soon!
So glad you mentioned a face "bald spot"! I have one under the corner of my eye and then blush bunches next to it... kinda looks like a permanent shiner 😬😕
Went off of Nuvaring that I had been on for about 10 years back in January and also was able to skip periods with that. When I went off it periods were very intense and returning back to normal and to curb that I'd like to drink some tea and put a heat pack on, and it really helped a lot. Maybe that could work for others too!
omggg so happy that you're reading Pachinko!! As a Korean American, it means a lot to know that someone I look up to is learning more about my history and culture (-:
naturopaths and nutritionists can really help with the transition to being off the pill. magnesium is a super great assist like the week before your period. they should recommend all types of things to help
Coming off the pill and tracking my cycle with an app has been a game changer. I’m so much more in tune with my body and can plan everything from my workouts to work meetings and social gathering based on my cycle and how I know I can bring my best based on where I’m in my cycle. 10/10 recommend going au natural! You can still defer pregnancy because I know exactly when I’m fertile and it’s all science based. Natural Cycles is the app I use.
Hi, just some advice for eye blinking and mascara situation Maybe you can try lash lift and coloring your lashes black? Then you would not need a mascara, and it is not damaging as puting in lash extensions😊
When I went up north and stayed with camille and her husband. She gave me some good skin care and makeup items. So I returned home with more things than when I went on the trip..
I’m worried too about getting off, I have the iud and I know it has to be out soon, I’m so worried about what my body/life will be like after because this one stopped my periods. At first I didn’t want them to stop but when I switched to this one, wow! I love not having any.
I have one of those spots on my cheeks where the makeup doesn’t stick too! It’s right in my blush line and I hate it. You’ll have to let us know if you ever find out what causes it and a solve
Oh girl, can I ever relate to your period/pill detox challenges. I went off the pill in September after being on it for over a decade, and it was been a rollercoaster! Excruciating periods (thank goodness I work from home bc passing out in public is no bueno!) and hormonal acne 😖 it has been super challenging! I really want to stick to it and get to the root cause of my symptoms, I’ve been seeing a hormonal nutritionist and naturopath to help with this, but gosh it can be so defeating! Something that has worked really well for me for period pain over the past couple of months is actually castor oil packs. I got mine off Amazon from the brand queen of thrones, and I have found that it really helps with cramping. I put it on every night before bed and then stop using it when I get my period and I have found the cramping to be a lot less intense. Would love to hear any tips and tricks that you discover over the next little while
I’ve gone off the pill a few times in my life…I’ve found ginger to help the most. Incorporating as much ginger into my diet, and eating clear soups when I felt especially sick. This last time I used a liver cleanse to help get some residual yuck out of my system. (Not a doc)
Not to scare you...but I also was on the pill for like 10 years..and I ended up getting fibroid tumors on my uterus, from too much estrogen over the years...and had to get them removed..I also had very bad cramps and bleeding when I went off the pill..and the tumors were up against my bladder and I was getting light-headed..so i got an ultrasound done and thats when they found the tumors..fortunately, safety in numbers they were benign..just be careful if your periods persist really bad..sometimes there is a disadvantage for being on the pill for long periods of time. :(
About having an off week, you are not alone! everyone I’ve talked to have been experiencing the same thing this month myself included! I’m starting to believe something is shifting in the universe causing this negative energy or something 🤯.
Hey girl I'm totally cool with you doing the "same old" makeup every time. One you have inspired me to not wear mascara all the time, this might sound corny but it's liberating in a way to not have to worry about rubbing your eye or wondering if your mascara is flaking off and two I have been wearing makeup off and on for 17 years now and I always feel like I need to switch it up which is fine but if you're in a time crunch and got places to go and people to see it's always nice to have that "go-to makeup" and products that you know will hold up, work and look fantastic throughout the day. You give me such inspo! I'm still finding my go to makeup look and I think I got it..... almost. 😅 OMG at the end of the 1998 film "You got mail." Meg Ryan was wearing those same looking pants but in a khaki color and I'm like those pants are coming back in style and here you are wearing them! I freaking love it! 😂
Super normal to feel weird after coming off the pill. Also yeah real periods are fuckers and that's why I went onto the pill to begin with 🤣. Hope you start to feel better and more balanced soon! Can't wait to see the travel videos 😍
ACUPUNCTUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Helped me so much with hormones and seeing a Naturopath (I'm in Aus, so not sure if there's the same thing in Canada) but she gave me a herbal tincture drink to help heal my gut, it's all about the bloody gut health lol! I went off the pill in Dec last year after being on it for like 16 years. My skin and hormones were COOKED. Azelaic acid helped too skincare wise because my skin was inflamed, red and sore. All the best queen xx
Hello Allana ☀️I have just discovered your channel 💕 by watching Victoria, Inthefrow's vlog. I am so happy I have found you 🤗 you and Victoria are such beautiful and genuine people 💕 and inspirational women to watch ! Thanks for all your vlogs 😊Love from us : Silvia & the girls 🐼🐻 Xxx
Gotta say, I’m pretty glad that those days of bad periods are over for me! Packing idea: Oversized button-up shirts worn as jackets to deal with temp changes.
I’m also blessed with that very same bald patch on my cheek! I’ve been using up my lipsticks and lip stains for blush and honestly I love them more than powder blush. And yes even my old Lancôme shakers work amazing. Finished one up today actually. I’m curious how a liquid lip would do as blush. Could be long lasting 🤓
You've got such a lovely, playful nature Allana! Your videos always make me happy :)
When I watch Allana's videos, I feel like I'm listening to the life of a friend; everything is most pleasant and real. I also want to thank the quality of video and edition, everything is spectacular! And I hope you feel good

Wow living for the outfit!! That jacket! The belt! The pants! So stunning!
This fit with the converse and the white jacket has got to be one of my favorite outfits of yours all time🤩 idk what it is but it’s so understated yet cool and chic but still comfy and I LOVE IT

Amen on that last line😭😂
Ibuprofen always with food! Don't forget
WOW THIS OUTFIT. Literally soooo good. Edgy in such a graceful-lady way. The converse is suchhh a good swap 🤤 dying!

naturopaths and nutritionists can really help with the transition to being off the pill. magnesium is a super great assist like the week before your period. they should recommend all types of things to help
What birks are those white ones?!? 😍
Hi, just some advice for eye blinking and mascara situation
Maybe you can try lash lift and coloring your lashes black?
Does anyone know what brush she used with the Laguna bronzing cream? It looks like an IT Cosmetics & Ulta brush?
(Not a doc)
Now prepping my dinner watching you,
Perfect night 🤩
I'm still finding my go to makeup look and I think I got it..... almost. 😅
OMG at the end of the 1998 film "You got mail." Meg Ryan was wearing those same looking pants but in a khaki color and I'm like those pants are coming back in style and here you are wearing them! I freaking love it! 😂
Hope you are enjoying Spain, Lan! I love it there xx
They rebranded Casino as the shade Laguna 3! Sending much love your way!
Have you ever had lash extensions? I used to have trouble with my mascara transferring and lash extensions are my new best friends!
Super normal to feel weird after coming off the pill. Also yeah real periods are fuckers and that's why I went onto the pill to begin with 🤣. Hope you start to feel better and more balanced soon! Can't wait to see the travel videos 😍
i've been meaning to read pachinko for awhile! there's an apple tv show adaption that's amazing!!
My daughter swears by the next HD blurring powder. She tried it on me and I am sold. Would be great when wearing it in the florida heat.
Hi Allana what shade are you wearing in the Laura Mercie liquid blush? ❤️
Please review Guerlain foundations
ACUPUNCTUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Helped me so much with hormones and seeing a Naturopath (I'm in Aus, so not sure if there's the same thing in Canada) but she gave me a herbal tincture drink to help heal my gut, it's all about the bloody gut health lol! I went off the pill in Dec last year after being on it for like 16 years. My skin and hormones were COOKED. Azelaic acid helped too skincare wise because my skin was inflamed, red and sore. All the best queen xx
Also I hated the book Pachinko hahahahaha don't want to spoil it for you- you may like it! Would love to know your thoughts.

Just finished it ends with us a few days ago. I loved it but sad but also so good
Gotta say, I’m pretty glad that those days of bad periods are over for me!
Ive heard some people mix liquid lipstick with a bit of concealer to make it last really long and sit well
