Awesome collection! I agree completely, its good to mix retro with some new cards depending on the player/population/history of the brand. For some players retro makes sense and for others the slightly newer ones.

a lot of basketball collectors find the Jordan rookie a boring card. I think there is logic in this crossing over to soccer, even if there are only 20 PSA 10 Messis its still a card you see over and over every week and it gives a feeling of fatigue or boredom

I think the 2017 chrome is a bit overrated. I think 2004 megacracks abd 2014 panini have more relevance
