きのこ帝国再結成をいつまでも待ってしまう
「東京」ってタイトルの曲は上京してきた孤独感とか、華やかで無機質な世界に揉まれて生きてる的なものが多い中で、この曲はただただ貴方に出会った場所がたまたま東京だったっていう意味の「東京」って言う点でかなり異質だって記事見てめっちゃなるほどとなった

シューゲイザーをよく邦楽に落とし込んだよね

シューゲイザーってフィードバックノイズだけじゃなくリバーブとかも含まれるんだよ
大人になってからとんでもなく響くようになった。学生の頃と大違いすぎる。

Even I as a foreign fan, adore kinokuteikoku. I found this band long ago as a highschooler and now years later, I still come back to their albums and listen to the master work of their artistry. Their music is brilliant

きのこ帝国の代表曲はこっちだよな。シューゲイザーって感じも強いし
日本でバンドブームが最も下火だった氷河期に頭角を現したせいで
損をした部分がおおきいと思う。世間がより個性的で高度な音楽を
好むようになったのも近年だし。今なら良い感じのアニメタイアップ付けば
一気にドカンだと思う。
全く同じことを考えていました。多人数アイドル全盛時代の活動で不遇でしたね。

Tricot, Mass of Fermented Dregs, Osterreich and some songs from TK from Ling Tosite Sigure can be like this song.

Maybe I’m late, but there's more:
Similar(All JP):
1) Yuragi (揺らぎ) - Amazing band, tbh. ethereal, quiet vocals and very dense, noisy sound makes them somewhat similar to My Bloody Valentine (at least for me). Really good and surprisingly unpopular. Check their track "soon" and you'll see what I mean by "noisy", it’s not a bad thing at all.
2) ……… (Yes, that’s the actual name. You can find them by looking up “Dots Band” or “DotsTokyo”. Or just put 9 dots into Spotify search bar) - they were a shoegaze Idol project, which is weird, but their songs are good nonetheless. Definitely more pop-like than others. Some members then joined another idol-ish project with similar sound, “RAY”
3) For Tracy Hyde - Yuragi and Dregs resemble Teikoku in some aspectc, but lean more to shoegaze/guitar-filled/noisy side. This one is opposite, I think. More dreampop, than shoegaze.
4) Seventeen Years Old And Berlin Wall (17歳とベルリンの壁) - another heavily MBV-inspired band as it seems. Otherworldly vocals, dense sound and all that. Pretty sweet.
5) Chiaki Sato - ex-vocalist of Kinoko Teikoku. She shifted to pretty much normal pop music, but her voice is still great.
Choice of my personal bias, lol:
Мотогонки (Motogonki) - suddenly, Russian (or late Soviet, that’s not really clear) band. Amazing sound, very unique atmosphere. Maybe, I’m just weak to such things, but low record quality, sound artifacts and that weird soviet-styled psychedelic design and overall DIY/Unprofessional vibes are just so freaking cool. Not really similar(JP):
1) Supercar - they sound more like those alternative rock or indie rock bands, but still pretty good. They song “STORYWRITER” was the thing that introduced me to shoegaze and completely blew my mind as a kid.
2) Coaltar of the Deepers - They don’t have much in common with Kinoko. They have much more shoegaze and alt rock, than dreampop, but maybe you’ll like them too.
Non-JP:
3) My Bloody Valentine - you probably already know them. But if not, check them out. They and Cocteau Twins kind of founders of the genre.
4) Chapterhouse - they sound A LOT like all of modern shoegaze bands. Except they were active in the 90s.
5) A Place to Bury Strangers - very noisy and loud, nothing similar to dreampop. But I really like them.
8) Ride - just good, can’t say much
9) Ringo Deathstarr - sweet, very pop-like and just nice

こんばんは。きのこ帝国の、「東京」、悲し過ぎるぐらいに悲しい曲ではありますが、何度も何度も、零れ落ちる涙が、流れ続けて、涙が止まらなくなりました。
次回の職場の、カラオケ会で、この曲を歌ってみますね。私来て下さる事を来て下さる事を、願います。来て下さる事を、祈っています。の職場の皆様方は、みんな私の事を分かり過ぎるぐらいに理解して下さる方々なので、途中で涙が止まらなくなっても、最後まで、止めないで、歌わせて下さると思います。
こんな悲しくも、美しい名曲にも、たくさん希望を頂きました。ボーカルの佐藤千亜紀さんにも、たくさん希望をもらい、傷を負って潰れそうな私を、救って下さいました。佐藤さんの希望を持てる音楽に、たくさん支えられて来ました。次回の佐藤さんのライブの際には、遠くても構わないので、少しずつ貯金して、ライブ会場に向かいます。本音を言えば、また仙台市内にて、ライブを開いて下されば、幸いです。昨年の千亜紀さんの仙台ダーウィンのライブ、とても楽しかったですよ。ライブチケット代金を貯めて、仙台のライブ会場に向かいます。宜しくお願いしますね。
