We can enjoy a lot of BNSF pumpkins in this video. The second train is awesome with the three different railroads' engines. I think we can say that the action is pretty exciting in Arkansas. I'm sure the next update will be entertaining too. Great job as always, your work is much appreciated. :)
Oh no, cliff hanger! LOL! There's just something about SD70ACe's that are so unique and cool looking to me. The distinct, sharp corners, the mid-rear radiator section, the HTCR-II trucks... It's definitely in my top 3 favorite diesel-electric locomotives. Was having kind of having a rough start to my day, so this was a nice surprise this morning. As always, a fantastic video, sir.
The SD70ACe's exterior design is simply more elegant than that of many other EMD or GE locomotive types. I always like to catch an ace wherever I can. I'm glad to hear this video could make you feel somewhat better. I hope everything's okay.
I fully agree. Where I live, we rarely get to see such cool power mixes, but Memphis is an important interchange point of multiple railroads, so it's far more likely to catch something like that second lashup in this area.
I also like the trains in this video very much. My favorites are the northbound manifest with the colorful lashup and the southbound manifest with all these steel loads. Amazing.
Finally! I have carved out time to watch a terrific video in its entirety without constant interruptions, as all worthy videos deserve to be watched! The old warbonnet on that manifest can sure use a new paint job. Always been one of my preferred paint schemes. Reminds me sometimes of the F-8s back in the day. Hey, something you don't see every day. A tank car with a scarf! Great job my friend! Always such a pleasure to see your work.
I wish they would repaint the Santa Fe warbonnets in that style. That would be absolutely awesome. I have never had the chance to see SF F-units in action, but I have H0 models of F3s and F7s and they look great. I'm glad you enjoyed watching this video!
Very nice collection of trains! I like the large lashups - especially on a train with Multiple DPUS. I bet it is challenging when driving over terrain :)
Great Job as always MB, I really like those long colorful shots of train #4 backing in and then pulling out, all with a single engine. You are definitely getting your money's worth out of that zoom lens on this one. Fire Truck horns (makes me miss being at work) and Train horns, music to my ears.
I was very surprised to see that single engine pull this not that short cut of cars across the river to Memphis, but I hope they know what they're doing!
1,173,300 total YT competitive railfanning points awarded lol 👍 Key bonus captures: SF warbonnet, CSX and NS foreign run through power, NS operation live saver, fallen flag rolling stock, signal aspect capture and knockdown, riding the shove lol, joy riding the GP50s.
That's a hell of a score lol. I knew there were some highlights you would like. I'm still amazed by how much attention you pay to all details! Awesome. Also good to know some people really watch the full video. It's definitely worth it...
@@mbmars01 usually get a CSX auto rack train (Memphis-St. Louis) come through 2-3 times a week severely underpowered puts on a good show climbing the hills last time I seen one come through had 2 B36-7's and 60 empty auto racks yeah it stalled.
@@mbmars01 very rare indeed seeing how they were road switchers on a mainline train ,I regret moving to the country (my only regret NO TRAINS) no telling what all I've missed.SD40-2's (the usual power) on coal trains to now running locals, 90's were awesome! Power was more diverse but now its Gevo's and Aces (I do like the Aces)
This was a surprising move, but it looks like they are used to doing it like this. They store those sections, including a locomotive, on the side track and when UP is ready to receive a chunk, they get it done.
@15:01 That is the first time I've heard a GE loco grunting that hard usually they are quiet and unassuming and any nearby EMD'S drown them right out sound wise.
If you're around Thayer, Missouri, they'll shake the ground here! I've done many a yard shift where I've sat next to the tracks and the van I'm in will vibrate as they accelerate out of the yard! MP 335.1 is another great spot as they're in the meat of the grade going north out of town and at full throttle.
Thanks! Maybe he did. Since I'm so focused on my camera screen to get the scene properly framed I cannot pay too much attention to the crews, unfortunately. Usually they do wave or greet.
Yet I think it's not going to be a bestseller. GE was first with their Tier 4s and now the market is saturated. Also, there are so many engines in storage or being rebuilt. Not a locomotive buyers market right now.
@@mbmars01 How does that happen lol? Nobody walked / inspected the train before it left the yard? Crew or yard hostler or car inspector: "LoOkS GuD"! (Big plastic wrapping or tarp / trash stuck hanging off the car) 🤣👍
3:04 that’s an interesting BNSF train, there’s a Santa Fe warbonnet trailing second, there’s a CSX trailing third, there’s a BNSF GP38-2, and then there’s NS #9255 in operation lifesaver paint. I no that it’s rare seeing NS OLS Dash 9 on BNSF trains, but when I saw the fifth unit on that BNSF train, I realized that NS #9255 was dead in tow. a BNSF employee said to me that Norfolk southern retired this operation lifesaver dash 9 when that train came by me, which is why the unit before that engine is a BNSF gp38-2, which was fourth out. NS sold the 9255 to Wabtec and I realized that there were no more number boards on the front and exhaust stack was capped as well. that’s because the 9255 was actually on its way to be scrapped in Texas, and I knew that OLS dash 9s are on their way to the scrapyard now that they are all retired from ns. lol but where is the 9255 headed since there aren’t any number boards on the front and there’s a capped stack? maybe a scrapyard in Texas? Idk 🤷♀️

The NS OLS dash 9 9255 is now being rebuilt in Fort Worth texas as NS 4470
So I heard. Might have been the last time it was filmed in this scheme on a train.
@@mbmars01 there’s a sting possibility of that. 9252 was another OLS dash 9 and was rebuilt to 4469, it did not retain its OLS decals

I would think so. If the engineer decides to control the DPUs with custom settings, he really needs to know what he's doing.
