The 'settings' for this car were taken from an old North American save file. With my own settings, I managed around 2'14. No wonder this car dominated the Japanese Time Attack rankings; this thing can move! The best players managed around 2'05 in this machine.

Very nice, and yeah it looks like a monster compared to the Clio Trophy!! 😮
I've not seen this Supra with that body kit. The body kit reminds me of Tokyo Highway Challenge 1, maybe Sega GT borrowed assets from it, or it was a kit you could actually buy in the real world back in the day?? The alloy paint job looks nice! 😊

Thanks for the reply VR. From what I briefly read online, this was a limited edition 'road legal' version of a race car (released in 1994). It made an earlier appearance in Gran Turismo 1/2 with the same paint job. I doubt I'm using the optimum technique for this car but it will do for now. I've uploaded another unlisted video showing the best times from the North American save file in question: th-cam.com/video/C7e60Y8J73A/w-d-xo.html (no sound).

@@RJAY63 Cool, didn't know that body kit was a real car. That hood with those vents is an option in THC... Looking at that guys Snowy Mountain & Night Section B times, looks like I was going in the right direction with the Clio lol. Would be cool to start over and when you enter your name you enter the cars name instead, or as close to it. Write the car down before play so you know and yeah..., years from now you would know what car did that time. Almost tempting lol.

@@RJAY63Hi Rjay, I've now got this Supra, it was the prize for winning the Speed King "rear wheel drive" race. I've just completed the game and got the F50 body and the WRC Corolla, which reminds me... There was a Rally Track in the game once, and I'm sure I've seen a vid with the WRC Corolla driving on this strange rally course.
BTW I checked the Car File after completing the game, (winning all races) and I have one [SA] "???????" car not unlocked, any ideas how to get it?
It was also strange to see a few AI cars in the Speed King races we can't get or buy in the PAL version, like the Le Mans prototype car, what looked like an Audi A4 DTM car and some crazy Hatchback that smashed it's way to the front of the pack in the "front wheel drive" race lol. Cheers!

@@MIK_F40 Well done on completing the game! There is no rally track in the retail version of Sega GT however in the prototype version there is a short dirt track that's infamous for having Luigi (from Super Mario Bros) as the flag man. I also saw a video featuring the WRC Corolla however it was just being driven 'off-road' on the Deep Rock Road/Great Rock Road courses.
I think the missing SA car is the GTO Twin Turbo MR; apparently you get this by winning the Official SA Class Cup although that didn't work for me (just ended up with another Toyota). Therefore I pulled mine from one of many VMU save files via the car trade function.
You should be able to build most of those AI cars in the Carrozzeria, however there are 4 'bodies' that can only be found in the Japanese version (Homologation Special). Those 4 bodies are the BASICA (original Mini Cooper), PLATYPUS (BMW M Coupe), AMBLE (Porsche 911) & BLOWG (Lamborghini). A car enthusiast/race gamer did a little video on them that you can see here: th-cam.com/video/MNAxqctNKUM/w-d-xo.html. While you can only make cars with those bodies on the Japanese version, the finished car can still be transferred from a Japanese save to a PAL save (via car trade).

@@RJAY63 Thanks Rjay! It only took 23 years, I suck. 😁
I'll check that race again to see if I get lucky, I'm not a fan of the GTO as it looks like an American car so not worried if I don't get it. Luigi Flagman rings a bell, lol. Cool, I'll check that carrozeria body video. Thanks!
