Great Quality video ! Keep them coming; and keep coming to Morocco !! I'm a Ktm 690 rider and to me it's the next step if you wanna go further in the offroad capabilities
Exactly ! Almost too polyvalent but it's the sweet spot for me. Thank you also for giving a feedback on the DDX, I miss the Medium Trail bikes a bit so I find myself comparing bikes. One thing I noticed is how wide the bike seems, you look very skilled Offroad but the bike just doesn't let you have a natural Offroad leg position. Do you get used to it ? The 890r is the one i found you could really get your ankles and knees to control the bike the way you would on an enduro
@@yb9426 you are right about that, it really got me to get used to it a lot due to the massive tank and flank width. when I hop on my 450 Husky I think I'm riding a bicycle lol. but then again..I love both! just different
Two we have had would not reliably start on cold mornings on multiple separate occasions. That is not a good thing when you are on a long trip. The GSs and KTMs always started under the same conditions. Great bike, but that was a confidence killer.
That is a confidence killer for sure, I would agree. Hasn't happened to me fortunately, not even after a night on the foot of a glacier at +-0C in the morning
Had two Hypermotard for 4 years, same engine as yours. Awesome. Reliable. You’re a pro rider, I’m only tossing around being a silly wanna-be. Swapped the Hyper for a Multi V4 Rally. Lovely bike, but 3 months in, it ain’t going on a ride like yours - although I’d love to join you 😅 Could be it’s being “downgraded” early… who knows! On a completely different note - did I hear creaky MX boots…? 😂 Love that sound… the sound of an adventurer! Again - lovely video, great topic, and well made 👏
Squeeky MX boots all the way! 😂 awesome input, thanks for you comment. Mate the 939 Testastretta really is a fantastic engine! but so is the V4 in the Multi, I´m a big fan of that bike. But yes, heavy on a different level. What would make you wanna change, just the weight factor?
@@NikTheSlick those boots are made for dancing 🕺 The v4 is a big beast for me, at 265kg - well balanced but still a little too heavy with a 30l tank. I’m a big guy - but short. I’m tippy toes on the v4 even in my Tech10’s. I do love the heated seat tho 🤣 Handlebars are big and wide, good for control - but far away. I haven’t done much off-roading, but can see I won’t be able to have enough control over the bike if I’m going really off-road like you have done with the DDX. But for long journeys and heading off down a gravel path or fire road I’d be fine on the v4. Let the miles roll in!
I highlz advice to change or clean your airbox regulary, when driving in dirt like that. I heared its bit more work on the desert x but i would still do it..
Hey Jose! DDX Rally is a fantastic bike for its value :) but there is no reason I would swap mine for a Rally. The DDX build I'm riding is worth +€30k and at least on the same level of a Rally. BTW there is a new video coming on the build series this week, check it out :)
Alright!! Yes! That's true!! I forgot it!! You have on your bike awesome upgrades! You actually don't need the DDX RALLY!! You already got a better one! 😊 congrats mate!
a bit early to judge but i hope it stays like this. all eu brands should be reliable at this point. its been almost 30 years since japanese manufacturers earned their "reliable" title badge. the fact that we still keep asking this question about eu brands in 2024 is kinda disappointing. i wanted a 2020 hyper but man, stalling issues in 2020 and no fix. cmon... cheers bro, keep it up
Hi Paul, appreciate the comment! and I agree with you, that´s why I said there will be more updates down the line. However, the video shows a fraction of what I have done with this bike and I am very impressed how well it kept up with some of the torture testing so far
Things that hack me off. Why did they think it was smart to put the bloody air filter under the tank? And why does it take a whopping 185nm of torque on rear axle nut?
hahah totally feel you..! so rear nut..I mean everybody needs to decide for themselves but I surely don't keep it at that torque level. and the filter thing, yea that was my first thought as well. the good thing about the filter being so far hidden is that it actually doesn't catch much dirt, dust at all. When I change my air filter on my 450 after every ride, the DDX sometimes takes 1-2k km of dirt and is still fine. I believe this is what they had available from other platforms and didn't go the extra mile to develop a new intake system but what do I know
The DX looks this way for a reason. It's a retro design throw back to the Ducati powered Cagiva Dakar Rally bikes of the 80's/90's. Once you start looking at it that way it starts to grow on you.
what is the most reliable ADV Bike in your opinion?? 🤔⚔️
Honda transalp 600
@@colinrichardson3680 yea..can´t really break a Honda. How long did you have yours?

Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin, Transalp, Yamaha T7 and newer Africa Twins are also rock solid!
Really like your videos! They all are super well made!
thanks buddy!
I'm loving mine so far; couldn't be happier.
right? wonderful machine. you are riding street or dirt mainly?
Nice vid again Nik!
thank you!! :)

Could be the lithium batteries. They gotta warm up for a minute!
I have had mine about one year and no issues, no recalls, I ride my DDX pretty hard.

The T7 looks ok from certain angles but that big bublous tank yuck.
