+Saabkyle04 When I visited the Buick GMC dealership downtown, I asked why the HP, torque numbers weren't on the window sticker. The salesman's response : "Most people don't care about horsepower or torque". I don't visit that dealership anymore.
Maksym Plashenko Yeah, the Opel Insignia is also assembled in Germany while the Buick Regal is assembled in Canada. So that might also be the reason why the Opel is available with an AWD+Manual combination while the Regal is not.
***** You can get it with a standard transmission over here too, or at least you could in 2012 when I was looking at these. I've lost interest in new cars since then so I don't really keep up with them anymore.
In europe its also available as a station wagon, which looks quite nice and increases its practicability. You can combine the sedan and the station wagon with the 325 hp 2.8 ltr. V6 engine, which produces a nice deep sound (called OPC (Opel)/vxr(Vauxhaul) then). The price, about 50.000 €, is ok, when you compare it with an equal expensive Passat that reaches this price range with just a 150 hp TSI/TDI engine in it.
Robert Frank that's why i dont like american cars now... they're all just imports with a different name. which doesnt mean imports are bad!! i drive a reliable VW golf since i was 16... but the fact that america doesnt even have original cars... except for a fucking mustang or something... i mean come on!! pontiac doesnt even exist anymore...
babbling corkoth55 never heard of The Global Economy. Half his VW parts came from Mexico, 25% from Turkey balance from China. 0wner's brain 100% from Mars
Kyle : You are still doing a great job with the videos. They are very informative and very helpful. Do not lose your passion for these videos. Thank you for sharing.
Kesp K. but they sell it under different names, because Opel and Vauxhall were bought by GM and were made to be the same. In ireland its sold as an Opel, so it is only England, Wales and Scotland that it is sold as a Vauxhall
Just bought one like this. Loving it. Personally find the styling to be very good, pretty quick, and rides well for sport suspension and 20 inch wheels. Don't like the lack of interior storage, specifically a convenient place to put a cell phone, sunglasses holder, and on cold start there is a vibration that I'm told is common but I don't like.
This is such a sleeper....don't know why people don't look into this car more often. I prefer this looks better than the BMW 3 series, Acura TLX,Audi A4 or the Volvo S60....the only thing that looks just as good or even better in my opinion is the Lincoln MKZ.....these two are bad ass and shows that Americans can run with the best as well although the Lincoln looks much better interior wise then the Buick or Cadillac ATS for that matter.
The old Buick 3800 is one of the top ten best engines ever made; ( look at the wards best engines of the century) However, this little turbo for banger is a winner. It s quiet and smooth, customary and holding true to the Buick heritage, as reliable, smooth and powerful. I have this car myself, and loving every minute of it.
yes, i love it. I have exactly the same car with the same interior, engine and transmission. But my car is black outside and manufactured in 2016 as Opel Insignia. Thank you for this vid.
I think a lot of Canadians watch your show, and may I suggest a few additions? Take 2 minutes and tell us the price in Canadian dollars, MPG in Liters/KM, and availability(do you get certain models and we don't) .I know I could just watch another show but your format is the best. Cheers.
But then if Kyle included Canada everybody would ask for European/UK/other prices and it would be a mess (not just Canadian viewers outside of the US). Just look up the facts for Canada and watch the video as well, it would work best like that. However, saying l/100km would cover both main methods of showing fuel consumption, good for most of the world.
***** We are connected to the US, cars move up and down. I have bought my last 2 cars in the States. BTW who cares about people that drive in Europe, that's their own fault! lol We manufacture most of the American cars together. You get cars that don't come here , and you guys come and buy the manual transmission stuff you don't get. Telling me to get 3 facts elsewhere while I watch a 30 minute video. I only get my information from here. Ok just a minute then:(
contractki11er American insurance companies write off cars for a door ding! It also depends on the exchange rate, which is terrible right now. The other advantage to buying a used car in the states is that some cars come from warm climates where there is no salt on the road.
The best thing about this US Opel Insignia was that it only had petrol engines in option. Not like in Europe where these cars (as well like the most of the cars) usually have a diesel engine which turn out to be a nightmare to maintenance.
Epic review as always Kyle! I'm not a huge fan of the Regal, however if it's in black I'm crazy for it. You should come down to Baker Motor Company and review the only Rolls Royce Pinnacle in the USA!
The model you have there share most parts from Vauxhall Insignia VXR Opel Insignia OPC. They are the brands 'sport' range. The European cars have a more sporty, deeper exhaust note & have a 2.8 V6. Also the VXR &OPC are 4x4
I had just traded for a 2011 Buick Regal CXL RL2 December 4, 2015. I love this car, but wish it was keyless entry push button started and touch screen infotainment center with navigation. but it is a very nice car.
I've been interested in the Regal GS. Test drove a used 2017 and under hard acceleration, it felt a bit weak to me. Used to driving a 2002 SAAB. Also have concerns over a direct injection engines in any car. Know too many people with DI engines having issues, mainly carboned up intake valves and fuel pump failures. Maybe keep my SAAB forever. 😀
Impressive car! Great American A4. Seems kinda heavy. Perhaps there is an upcoming S4/RS4 competitor? This car has all the tech and luxury but needs less weight and more effortless power/gears for the price. Guess I'm impatient...
Don't know why the v6 wouldn't be offered like it is in the vxr insignia. Not like fuels as big a problem over there and it's a serious quick car for the price
Why does Buick still exist? It just doesn't come across as needed by GM. I guess Cadillac is getting more sporty so making Buick the main comfort luxury brand for GM would make sense but at the end if the day the Impala looks nicer and is almost more luxury than many Buicks. I guess it's all subjective though, great video Kyle!
Kyle can you please do a startup video with a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van and do a startup video with a 2015 Ford F-150 cause I haven't seen them before
Loris basically on days with extreme temperature (super hot or super cold) remote start automatically adjust the temperature of the car to make you comfortable...it also sets your memory settings (seat position, mirror position, favorite radio station, fav cd track, etc.) so you can just get in your car and go without having to adjust anything
Regarding the interior: the reason it's not on the same level as BMW and Audi is that Opel/Vauxhall is pricetaged close to VW (at least here in Sweden). All maufactors in Europe now wants to be "premium" so the price and quality is Rising but the slogan "Köp en Opel, se Sverige igenom plåten" ("Buy a Opel, see Sweden through the tin/bodywork") still ring in some ears ;)
Hey kyle I was thinking if me and my mom and my stepdad can come to your family's dealership Car Connections Incorporated in Greensboro North Carolina and come on vacation there and I can do startup videos there and if the batteries are dead I will let you know and you can get the jump box right
To me a Buick will never be a sports car. It will always be an old person car. I just am having a hard time with that. I know they have tired to do stuff to shake that persona but it has not worked on me. Thanks for the video.
+Saabkyle04 When I visited the Buick GMC dealership downtown, I asked why the HP, torque numbers weren't on the window sticker. The salesman's response : "Most people don't care about horsepower or torque". I don't visit that dealership anymore.
Seth Porter That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard haha. I explained the changes and why during the engine portion.
***** If people "don't care" about performance, then why would Buick make a 2.0 liter turbo model? It's absolutely ludicrous.
Seth Porter They obviously didn't care much about selling the cars haha
***** Some say that car salesmen are bad people. I say that these people are bad car salesmen.
Seth Porter It's salesmen like him that are the reason this car doesn't sell well.
Over here in Europe you can have this car with AWD and a manual gearbox. Alltough over here it's sold as an Opel.
***** Because it is Opel. In England it's sold as Vauxhall, in USA as Buick, but originaly it's Opel :)
Maksym Plashenko Yeah, the Opel Insignia is also assembled in Germany while the Buick Regal is assembled in Canada. So that might also be the reason why the Opel is available with an AWD+Manual combination while the Regal is not.
***** Yeah theres little differences between the Regal and Insignia, like the Regal is a little safer than the European version
***** You can get it with a standard transmission over here too, or at least you could in 2012 when I was looking at these. I've lost interest in new cars since then so I don't really keep up with them anymore.

This car is in the UK a Vauxhall Insignia and in Europe an Opel Insignia
Yeah it's more like the vxr model for uk
David Van Puijenbroek UK is in Europe btw
Kesp K. but they sell it under different names, because Opel and Vauxhall were bought by GM and were made to be the same. In ireland its sold as an Opel, so it is only England, Wales and Scotland that it is sold as a Vauxhall

Nice beautiful car I always been a fan of the Buick's a great car all around !
I wish Buick would make a 2016-17 Regal GNX on the ATS-V Chassis with turbo charged V6.
+WolverineNerd Nah, make it a V8. (With Turbo charged V6 as an option)
+Jim Dayton The GN of the 80's was embarrassing v8's, the only advantage to a V8 in this current age would be the sound.
+WolverineNerd Supposedly they are working on it, although I just read that the 2017 GS will have the new Cadillac twin turbo V6. Yes please.

Robert Fernandes Thanks so much Robert! I hope to continue getting better and progressing as time goes on!
This is one of the first times I've seen someone notice the car's German roots
Speed wise the old 3800 V6 supercharged is much more to my liking although this one is just fine.

Thanks for the video! This is a beautiful vehicle. Being 6'4, I would have to go with something bigger.
That steering wheel looks like a darn video game controller! Crazy nowadays.
It is sold as a Vauxhall in the UK it was designed by the UK Vauxhall team and built by Opel
No, it was designed by Opel
Vauxhall is a brand of Opel
The engines are from GM
The GS Regal should have the 2.8L turbo V6 to differentiate it from the regular Regals.
The regal really have improved in all the years
Remote start is something I've not seen on the Insignia. Very cool.
A Sport mode on a Buick, I never thought I'd see that.
