As a swiss person, i agree with all of these but he mostly just showed the very touristy places. If you wanna see more places, recommended by a swiss native, maybe you could also react to Switzerland Travel Guide: Most Beautiful and Interesting Places To Visit.

You have to have a license to look for that stuff? That's crazy.

@@TheAngrySpud They call it "Strahlerpatent", even if you wanna search for gold you need to have that...
Nothing is allowed here for normal people.
Swiss laws book would be shorter if you write down what you could do rather than what you couldn't do...^^

Yeah all swiss people hike... also every schoolkid... but plenty of tourists die on hiking because they underestimate the danger

Is there a place that lists hiking safety or do they teach to Swiss kids in school?

Switzerland in general is very federalistic, so each village decides about the things happens in their village, each Kanton (state) decides about issues in their Kanton and on the top of this are votings for all of switzerland where the whole country can vote for changes in constitutions of Switzerland. In Switzerland all the old buildings are built 100years and more back in time. I am at the moment living in a house from the 18th hundred. You have to imaging that most of the villages ind the mountains or in a valley, lived hundreds of year isolatioted to thw rest of the world (exceot for trading), so in the mountain every village have their own long grown community, and the people are proud of that. Except villages like Zermatt or Cities like Interlaken, their built for tourists 😂 not the old town but most of the chalets around. If you come to switzerland don't trap into tourist hotspots. If you drive a few kilometers away from this you have the same scenery and spend 1/3 of your money in gondulas, lunch, hospitality and so on. Look at airBnB and you will find hundreds of chalets. For climbing and hight hikes I would recommendend the SAC (swiss alpine club) cabins. Do a hike to one of this cabins on a day hike, take a overnighter and on the next morning you have an incredible sunrise and you can hike back to the valley. (Only for good skilled hiker, so don't come with sneakers😂) You can climbe to the Matterhorn but is 4478m over sealevel and its the deadliest mountain in the world in the fact of people who died (because of underestimation of the peak). Wothout a mountain guide is possible to go up the "Hörnli Hütte) where is the last base for climber they want to go on the top of the Matterhorn. Greets from Switzerland 🤙

You can, just don't buy the shitty industrial stuff. Find a local cheesemaker and ask them if they send it abroad 😉
