I started pulling the non-hero cards out pretty quick after playing it pre-con once. I picked up some trading card 'team bags' to organize my growing hero collection, and I'm very happy with it.
14:18 could i double check. My understanding is, Sidestep and many defence events now allow you to play it on allies, if they are defending. Unless the card specifically says 'your hero', like 'desperate defence'. That was my interpretation of the rules reference v1.5, under 'defend, defending' page 13, 8th point, "defence labelled abilities can be played during an attack by a player whose Ally is defending the attack. In that case the bears identity does not become the Defender." because if we still can't play defense abilities on ally defends that makes many protection ally builds useless 😅 god now i am confused as page 41 under 'you' says ally defends are not an extension of our identity 😵
So cards like Side-Step specifically state "you" have to take the damage. An ally isn't you so if it took the damage, side step wouldn't go through its triggering condition. As far as point 8 on page 13 it's a weird rule. Basically since there can only be one defender it allows you to still play defense cards on your turn, even if it's an ally that is defending. But back to Side-Step, you still have to hit the triggering condition of "you" which hasn't been done.
@@D20Woodworking thank you for taking the time to explain that. 😁 Damn, and here i was 'unflappabling' with my allies. Good thing i am still studying as an undergraduate for my marvel champion degree. Appreciate your lectures D20! Clearly i have plenty more to learn.
I like using MarvelCDB for inspiration. I built the Spider-woman Aggression/Protection deck, but noticed it was 48 cards. I removed 8 (4 for each aspect) and it runs like butter! I finally enjoy playing her. It is a great resource to start.
Actually pulled out Absorbing Man this week, been a long time. You nailed it on the head with use a harder mod and play expert. I played him on expert with wrecking crew mod set, and it was actually a pretty fun time.
I think expert is more challenging than standard 2 in my opinion. Going for stage 2 villain to stage 3 can be very swingy at times and you really have to think about the timing of doing that. Plus exhaustion and Under Fire are two of the worst encounter cards you can possible pull in my opinion.
What do you think about the villain having a set order for the "bad cards" that deals to you... I know, replayability will be low but could make a scenario much more interesting... also thematically accurate, as the villain always has a plan

Don’t worry. We all do. I make mistakes. All. The. Time. Haha

The standard II environment gives the villain steady. Expert II is steady and acceleration

Yeah it’s definitely worth a try
