Here is a playlist with some videos on reading notation:

And I also have a 14 day challenge that walks you through the first stages of learning to play piano:

Great lesson, Robyn! Coordinating my hands to play combinations of different notes and their different timing has always been a challenge for me. I rely on hearing the music played while I observe the sheet music to get more comfortable as I learn. I likely need to be more disciplined and patient to really learn the coordinated timing properly.

Discipline and patience! You hit the nail on the head:) I hope the exercises help!

Your videos are so encouraging. You make it seem like most anything is possible for beginning adults. In your video you said that you can help in understanding key transposition. Have you made that video yet? Thank you for your help.

That makes me so happy to hear, that's exactly what I hope everyone can take away from my videos! I truly believe that anyone who wants to learn to play piano can, especially with the right tools and methods, and I think it's important for everyone to hear - especially at the beginning of a musical journey:) I haven't made a video on transposition yet, but I'll keep brainstorming some ideas

Hi Robyn, I had sent you an email about virtual lessons. Have you received it? Thank you.

Really like these exercises. Do you recommend mastering each level before moving on to next? The fingering in scale exercise for sure will be a challenge.

I'm so glad to hear that! I would say you could approach this in a few ways. You could try to get comfortable with one level before moving on to the next, or you could try regularly practicing one level and mixing in 1-2 of the next level for an extra challenge. So, for example, you practice all exercises from level 1 every day, and you practice just 1 of the exercises from level 2 per day. (Either #1 every day, or Monday #1, Tuesday #2, Wednesday #3, Thursday #4, etc.)
I'd play around with it and see what feels best to you!:)

@@pianowithrobyn Ok will take your advice. I did try level five #3 & 3A yesterday for the heck of it and yikes...difficult..but fun. Funny, i know the notes but really have to concentrate on the sheetmusic. Thanks for all the help.

That’s definitely one of the next “levels” - I’ll keep it in mind for a future video:)
