Thanks for buying! It's brand new! I worked with Guido to get my patches properly named and exported using CTRLR, so I am sure he will announce it soon.
Holy sh!t, this is a great demo. These presets are incredible dude! Big props I legit watched this video half a year ago when it first came out and I’m now rewatching it, and with about the same level of awe. It’s so lush! I think I absolutely need to get this unit. Ahhhhhh⚡️
Thank you! Heads up these are my Custom Patches for sale, not the factory patches! shop.milesawayofficial.com/products/64-custom-patches-for-gs-music-e7-by-miles-away
@@shawnsaul7759 yep I've kept it! I love it, but there's a voice in my head that possibly wants to sell it to fund a Moog Muse. Not sure it. It sounds incredible though and its my only Ladder Poly synth
What a great demo, thank you. I can hear with your patches the synthesis of my two best synth the CS80 and the OBX, creamy, plenty, dark wtih the good balance in between the bass the medium and the high freqs in one sound. Don't need another sound in the track ha ha ha some sounds remind me the Com Truise enormous pads. Very cool.
Thank you! That's a hard one, I don't own a P5/10 but I really want one. I would say this is more like a Moog Poly, as the filter is a ladder. I compared it to the P6 recently, check that: th-cam.com/video/YfORG9mXeZA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fAVzNquKTztwhzwq
Thank you so much! Simple decision: do you want vintage analog oozing character? Get this. Do you want a more neutral sounding jack of all trades synth that is more versatile but less vibey? Get Summit
Amazing patches Devin! They sound so good that I am strongly considering purchasing them in anticipation of one day owning the e7. What reverb pedal are you using?
@@MilesAwayOfficialI ordered the Muse, but the price was painful. I do wonder if getting this and a Teo would be a better decision, since I do love the Oberheim sound. I also have the Take 5 and a Summit.
Great demo, thanks for not explaining how many vco's it has. There aren't many polys with a ladder filter, but now the Muse has come along. I was thinking of getting one because i haven't had that sound since i had a memory moog a long time ago, but this might work. And much cheaper and takes up less space.
Great question. Both are the two most wild/raw sounding polysynths I own. OBX8 filter and envelopes are more pretty and well tuned, whereas the GS E7 is more finnicky but has a real mojo and genuine vintage vibe to it. I'd say that the E7 could be the perfect all arounder synth as long as you really like the vintage tone and don't mind unprecise filter tracking, whereas the OBX8 really wants to do Oberheim stuff but can do it flawlessly, either vintage OB sounds or more modern OB sounds. I use both about equally, but I use my OB-6 more than both.
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thanks for that info. I currently own the OB-X8 and also really love the sounds coming from this E7 but wasn't sure if it would be too identical sonically. My guess is that I wouldn't be missing out too much without the E7. Love your work btw!
@@MrAndyZhuthank you! Yea they aren’t the same but they aren’t leagues apart either. Check out the 3rd Wave if you want something really different from your X8. It’s expensive but it’s my fave synth of the last several years
Maybe it's a silly question/comparison, but: Would it make sense to describe the E7 as a Nymphes on steroids? The E7 seems to have a similarly vibe-y raw sound like the Nymphes or vice versa. I got a Nymphes, also because of your video about it, and I love its sound (though not its UI).
Great assessment! They really are similar in terms of wild sound, but the filter is different. I actually prefer the Nymphes filter tbh, but I agree you can't beat a knob per function workflow. Probably safe you would like this if you like Nymphes.
@@MilesAwayOfficial thanks for your thoughts on this! Tradeoffs, tradeoffs... Better filter, more modulation options (?), very compact/portable, cheaper, ... vs. one more voice, much better UI, stereo goodness, multitimbral, ... How do you find using the two? Or, which do you use more for what? Will you keep the Nymphes just for the filter? I've been contemplating getting an Electra One controller for the Nymphes (and other gear) that would get me closer to knob per function.
This sounds better in terms of raw tone, but Prologue has a more unique palette with the digital osc into the MS20 style filter. This is like nostalgic 80s, Prologue is like dystopian 80s. If you want classic tones I'd get this
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thanks for your reply! Last question : can you get the Prologues filter resonance to be clean if you turn the oscillator gain down in the mixer?
@@MilesAwayOfficialwhat do you think of the plugin version vs the pedal? Also, how about compared to other plugins such as Blackhole, Seventh Heaven, Vintage Verb, etc?
@@joshtackett its my absolute fave VST reverb, sounds 100% like the pedal. I just throw cloud on anything in my projects other than short decay stuff where I'll use IRs or UAD Capital Chambers. For hardware I like the MerisX the most right now, but I've got a Big Sky MX on the way, so maybe that will change.
Get these patches!

Thank you so much for getting them!! Enjoy :)
Very nice! Just grabbed them. Thanks for the heads-up on the CTRLR e7 editor, and I'm surprised that the GS Music mailing list did not say it was out.

TLDR … wait a minute, whaaat? Great news! I don‘t exactly need an editor, but a patch manager is what I terribly missed up to now.
