Why put diode when you only need ground for the relay switch? Diode is only needed to rectify ac to dc, or to block current flow. In the case of ground, current flow is only one direction; that is from negative to positive and if you put the diode in reverse bias no current flow from ground to positve.

Honda's using of diode has no practical value since the neutral wire would only serve as ground and the same is not connected to any other wire than to the switch.

Boss tanong bakit yung cut off relay ng mga scooter may diode din sa negative. To be exact BGLI 253. ito Yung relay na connected ang neutral at clutch switch ng mga scooter.
