Wow you just saved me hours of learning and experimentation!! You didn't even stutter or say umm once. Every statement was informative. High level education. Much appreciation.
estellerubio Is the i9 cpu worth it? It has an i7 option. I have a 13in 8gb ram 128ssd early 2015 mbp amd it works fine. I also have an external drive that i use with my sound library
Dear Estelle, many thanks for releasing the video. The videos are great. Just one observation if I may - it appears that those videos have lower sound that other TH-cam videos. Some settings perhaps...best luck in your endeavors!
Thanks for the alert. I normally use a professional camera and mic but it's not at my house on Lockdown; but yes, prob could have stuck a Limiter/Compression over this!
I think with this update Logic had to answer Ableton and Studio One features that been around for some time now. Good on Logic for this beast mode update.
I'm a Cubase user and I'm very jealous of Logic users now. Especially the new Live Loops feature and the Quick Sampler are insanely good. Quick Sampler can easily replace third party sampler plugins like Serato Sample.
Yes some amazing changes! might you try it out? Just made a new video on Quick Sampler, certainly lives up to its name but also very powerful and yes, true may well replace the need for any third party options! Thanks for stopping by! :)
@@stellarrubio I'm a PC user and don't plan on buying an absurdly overpriced Mac just to use Logic (the only downside to using Logic). For the price of a Macbook Pro you could probably supply food supplies and basic necessities to an impoverished and malnutritioned village in an underdeveloped region for more than 1 year. To be honest, except for these loop based workflows (for which I rely on Ableton), I'm pretty satisfied with what Cubase offers. Cubase offers the best MIDI and audio editing out of all DAWs for example.
It's all down to choice, if you're happy that's great! :) Yes it's expensive but for pro the speed saves time and money longterm, honest :) But yes feeding a viilage sure puts it in perspective ...
@@stellarrubio I guess you don't really have that "choice" if you simply cannot afford it. Most people making music these days are not really professional musicians / producers / djs. They cannot really recoup the money they spend on their computer through their income. Let's just face that truth and stop pretending everyone is a rich spoiled brat that can easily make that choice. Despite: I know guys who have Mac Pros and the best equipment and their music sounds like shiiite, while there are others who use $200 second hand laptops and freeware and their music sounds great. That includes some very successful dance / EDM, hiphop and trap producers.
Nice video, it’s a really cool update. I’ve always found arranging on the screen a pain, it’s much more musical performing it and recording like you did here... I’m wondering what the best midi controller would be to trigger this live, maybe an Akai APC40...
estellerubio cool! Yeah I read 10.5 supports the novation launchpad, might have to grab one of those as I really like the way you recorded your live performance... it would be cool to do it with a controller... instant arrangement is absolutely fine by me😁
Great Info Thanks !! could you please suggest , in the grid view is it possible to play 2 different scenes simultaneously ? and although track or cell volume controls are given. but can an individual Scene's Overall Vol level be controlled ?
Just my first time finding your videos/channel, and... damn-i find i have a bit of a crush. Your elegance is refreshing. // Hey, though-have you explored the Step Sequencer? I've been posting this elsewhere, hoping for a fix/solution, but none have come yet.... When you have the grid, there are no numerical designations for those 'step cells.' So, if you have a 32-step sequence, and want to quickly move notes/steps/hits around, if you're like me, with an old-ish brain, you're left to *counting* blocks. Even the groups of 4 aren't clearly (-enough) delineated, so i have to strain to see the multiples of 4, then do some gradeschool multiplication, then add or subtract to find where to put the snare 'on the 25' for a Trap style drum sequence, for example. I looked for a way to enable a 'view' but haven't found one. Seems quite ridiculous. I mean, it's in Ultrabeat, for example.
Yes you can assign a controller via the Control surface window...touch the cell then open that window then assign/learn the midi or external control trigger there!
im studying the live loops at the moment. Do you know if there's an option to play clips at different scenes, and condense those clips into a new scene?
Cells, you mean ;) You can Q cells from any scene or a different scene while one scene is playing. You can easily drag and drop to make a new scene of any chosen cells. You can bounce into the arrange and bounce in place then drag back in if that's what you mean? :)
@@stellarrubio Hi. You recommended one of the earlier quad core? laptops than the newest one you're running. One from late early 2017, 2018, etc. I wanted to know what one as Id like to upgrade myself. Thanks, Jake.

I like your channel however, quick suggestion. You might want to invest in a microphone and put up some sound treatment because your videos tend to sound like you’re in a echo chamber.
Yep next on the list, and in my new video on QuickSampler I add some better quality audio straight from the daw (2 mins in), rather than ambient recording! Thanks for the tips...
Ableton Live might be unbeatable when it comes specifically to this loop based approach to composition, but a.) Logic comes now very close in this regard and b.) overall Logic is the superior DAW as a general purpose DAW for recording, mixing, composition and so on. Ableton has very little to offer in those other departments - Ableton's MIDI capabilities for instance are a joke and you cannot really do in-depth editing and mixing in Ableton.

Yes...it changes everything including your plugins. And it’s not subtle either, it’s very easy to hear why it’s better than the rest.

why would cells play at different bpms? and also still when the sample cell is set to the master bpm? bug?
