I don't necessarily think it was just Mike returning and whispering sweet things to her. It was clear that Victor was distancing himself for a while now, obviously that'd freeze any marriage. Perhaps it was his denial of having a child is probably what sealed the fate of their marriage. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Diana at all what she did was horrible and disgusting. I'm just saying this marriage was going down hill before Mike even returned. I do understand why he didn't want to tell her about his condition and that chances were high that child would likely inherit it, but that's still not okay. You need to tell your SO about your issues otherwise it just shows a lack of trust and support you have between each other as a couple. I do understand that he was finding out how to tell her, but he should've just done it. By not telling your spouse about your suffering and prognosis it'll make them even more miserable when the time finally comes to say goodbye.
I think you stupidly portray it as you see fit,
1. Without Mike mention of the Deal he had between Him and Victor would he be together with daina nope and Daina being a Fool obviously Didn't Find the truth or rather Doesn't want to Know whether it is truth or false Just spend her nights with Mike.
2. Victor's sacrificed himself for his love as he meticulously cares about the minute details even though he was in his death row bed. That means He doesn't want his beloved to know his suffering and Being Sulken will make him heartbroken.
3. Stupid Daina doesn't know How to repay Kindness to his Benefactor (I mean He rescued her from the clutches of an aunt and safely returned her home by searching the whole county for three days )
I think Victor was a responsible person and meticulously cares about his wife preference than his own and loves her so much that made him to hide his congenital heritary disease but on the other Daina without Knowing the facts Nailed the Coffin by Sleeping with her First love, and also after knowing the some facts haphazardly she tried to mend but ultimately left him when he needs her the most coldly.
