I bought Xperia play as my first smartphone and wow I really love it. The controller feels good to control and slick design. I really thirst for more of Xperia Play. Plz make it happen

TH-cam recommended me this video after 10 years. I was Sony Xperia lover back then. I must say these phones were ahead of time. Not sure what happened to them recently. Sony should bounce back.
I tried this phone, running Asphalt 5 and I must say I am really in love with the smoothness of the game.

Yes you can. As for the Facebook games however, I just tried a few games and I was able to play as long as I installed the games. -Josh

That will depend on what type of phone do you like. The advantage this one has over the Xperia™ S is the physical gaming pad. However the Xperia™ S is also PlayStation Certified and has better specs than the Play and a bigger screen. So at the end you might enjoy the games even more on the Xperia™ S. -Josh

I have doubts with NVIDIA when it comes to the mobile world, but they sure are the best in PC GPUs, for the Xperia Play 2, I would want it to have Qualcomm's new (800 series?) chipsets

@ayzrie Not in all of its functions, for example it doesn't have an HD camera. And it depends if the applications and games are HD. -Josh
You will be able to play most games using the gaming pad, however not all the games are optimized for the Xperia™ play. This could result in not being able to use all the buttons in certain games. -Josh

@mygamefreek If the phone won't boot up, it might be some kind of software problem. I'd suggest you to go to the Sony Ericsson website and download the PC Companion. Run the Repair Phone option on it. -Josh
That really depends on how you will use the phone. The Xperia play is a great gaming phone while the Xperia™ arc S is great for handling media like music files, taking pictures with its great camera and watching movies on it's big bright screen. The Xperia™ arc S is also PlayStation® Certified although it doesn't have the gaming pad that the Xperia™ Play has and that many people enjoy. At the end it would be up to you to choose which one would be your best choice. -Josh

I used the phone for a few months and I liked it. For a gamer is a really good phone. Since there are so many games right now available for it and more coming out I'd say this phone is a good choice. If possible to you try finding the nearest Sony Mobile store to you and play with the phone to see if it is what you are looking for. -Josh

@Blazblue808 the phone the models are playing with isn't in working condition. It is just the body of the phone with the screen painted green. Whenever you see a commercial advertising a TV or a phone, the screen isn't actually there, it is always added in later with editing. It is IMPOSSIBLE to tell how a phone works from a commercial like this.

Its a PLAYSTATION phone not iphone so its meant for addictive gamer not light gamer.. and I think WorldOfANerd is right battery is a serious issue.. its only has a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery (pretty standard).. so to play game with sound enabled.. need to bring charger along. Anyway thats just my opinion Peace.

@o07NfiS The phone may not have native 3G video call, however you have the option to make video calls using Market apps such as Skype, Gtalk or YM. -Josh
I also use it to watch movies, read books, as hotspots (for my laptop, my S is 3g compatible), videocalls, mp3 player, and a lot more. I also make regular phone calls lol. And the upgrade is awesome, but they had us begging for a while. Hope theyll continue giving it more stuff. Its a great great great phone, better than A LOT of the newbies, including the ones with quad cores and bigger processors.

@xXkawaiiEmoXx If you're planning on getting NGP or 3DS there's no need for a gaming phone like the Xperia. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter. If gaming is really important to you I would get something with buttons. An Iphone just won't cut it in that aspect.
MWC 2015 is in 2 days, i would go through the trouble of returning my xperia z3 to get my hands on a Xperia Z4 Play!

@RedHeadedMLG There are two versions of the phone, one if from Verizon in the US which is a CDMA version (doesn't use SIM card) and another one which is GSM and that one uses SIM cards. -Josh
@WorldOfANerd the specs say 5hours and 30 minutes of continuous play, if it's true it's more than enough.
If you need more gaming hours than that in a single day you have an addiction problem. To play with a phone then 30minutes and up to 1 or 2 hours tops is enough if I'm really bored somewhere and have really nothing else to do.

I've tried playing a few games and it works fine. However I was not able to play on full screen since you had to play the games on the browser. -Josh

I have this phone and it is amazing. Best phone ever, although its getting behind. No HDMI, cam is pretty basic, and not too much ram, compared to SOME newer xperias and other phones. Still it holds its ground. Awesome screen, use it for college, work, training, etc, and its well established that's build up for gaming. Its perfect!!! When I don't have my laptop or tablet (Sony s), I use my phone to finish homework and send it, read for class, make pp, wd, ss, anything when on da go!!!
C'mon Sony! Make an Xperia Play 2! It will be awesome.

I can't really say since I haven't seen any HD game on the iPhone 4S. I could say is easier to play though on the Play since it has the Game pad. -Josh

Almost there, now it just needs a built in HD projector and then it'll be perfect
@TheAxtrex the down side is that it may be bulky and the battery life does not support 5 hours of gaming ( only if you play like angry bird type of games) with hard core games i got 2.5 hours, the screen sucks in the sun. there are alot of android games and i mean alot, the games are cheap so its good, gta 3 is probably the best to play with this phone, ask me questions and i will try to answer it

@ozdregs yeah i hope its good. if you dont have an iphone 4 and you like to play games yeah i think this phone is great.If you have iphone 4 just wait for ngp or get a 3ds. no point to spend 599 for another phone.
S.E.X. Play clocked at 1.8 Ghz (daily use) via custom kernel is a beast. And hell yeah it's an one of a kind device. If smthn missing, is some more love from mother Sony indeed. A dozen of new/psp titles only available for our Play could do the job. Sony didn't care that much bout it in the end. If a Xperia Play 2 will never come out, this one gonna be my escort till it dies.

When I first saw the phone I expected it to be 100-200 dollars or something but its only 0.99 with ATT!!! I am upgrading to this on saturday!

Two main reasons. It wasn't good enough to play new games. Also the support was really bad.
